How do I start a server?

Hi, I just started playing PR after many years of just playing HardJustice on and off. I recently moved, so the buddies I usually played with on LAN are now away.

What I'm wondering since honestly I've never really played much internet, is how do I start a COOP server online with just 1 or 2 of my friends without full on renting out a server?

I pulled up the BF2 dedicated server program that comes with BF2, but it doesn't register PR at all and doesn't seem to have the options I want. Is there a PR dedicated server?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would recommend a VLAN like hamachi or tungle.
i think hamachi should work for PR

You can't get the dedi server files without a server license afaik.

You can of course host a local server through the ingame menu. If you and your friends are using a program such as hamachi, and they connect by chosing "join internet" and entering your IP, they can play with you through virtual LAN, without actually needing to be in a network with you.

Thank you! I didn't know about VLANs! (I've been out of the gaming scene for a while) haha. Just went digging through my old hard drive, found my ghost recons, battlefields, and all others I used to play and decided to play some PC games again!

Thanks for the fast and helpful responses guys!
