BF2 game engine or did the PR guys make this from a whole new engine(whole new game) because the graphics look better with these patches and everything runs so much smoother.

Still the same engine.

Project Reality just replaced the low qualit vbf2 stuff with high-quality PR stuff.

It's a total conversion, not a mod. Comparing it to BF2 is like comparing Half-Life to Quake. An amazing job has been done here.

I believe you are the first to say that :p PR's hardware requirements are usually considered massive, compared not only to BF2 but even to recent titles (which are usually down to console standards and as such require less powerful hardware).

Edit: These little lines under BF2 and PR wouldn't even be so annoying if they were under any other word. Or are they under stuff like APC IFV MBT CPR AR SAW? Edit: Apparently not. Hopefully that stuff will be added. Noone ever needed to explain what PR or BF2 meant on this forum, but ingame terms on the other hand...

Say that to my old computer, I could run BF2 with everything on high even AA, though couldn't run on moderate on PR, especially in forrest-like maps like Yamalia and other maps like Fallujah, etc.
So I had to play Karbala, Al Basrah and other small maps.

It's a mod, which is why it installs alongside your BF2, and is called PR:BF2.

Total conversions are a type of mod.

Various vanilla BF2 content remains in PR so it isn't literally a total conversion anyway.
