Hey guys,

I was trying to get back into PR but I've ran into a small snag.

It seems when I start the game the splashscreen starts but then crashes often still within the splash screen of just after it.

This is in both vanilla bf2 and pr.

I already reinstalled the whole game with clearing the registry and installing the game into a different location. No succes so far.

Anyone have a suggestion on what I might try except a system format?

Thanks in advance,

Yorick

System:

Intel Q9300
4gb corsair ddr3
ati HD3870 HIS digital
5hdd's in total 2.5tb's
800watt power supply.

System runs very stable and runs everything else just fine. (cpu and gpu intensive programs)

Have you deleted your BF2 folder inside your documents folder? That's where all your preferences are kept.

Yes I did, deleted everything that related to bf2 and pr.

I installed everything I could find on this part of the forum that people recommended. Nothing so far.

Thanks for the help.

Fixed!

It was ATI tray tools forcing a refresh rate. I don't know why it causes the game to crash but a well. It works now.

Thanks for your time.

What exactly did you change in the ATI tools to make it work? I have a similar problem and when looking at the ati tools i see it was set to 1600x900@60hz.

sorry to be a pain but how exactly did you do that? there are 3 ati processes running... and the VISION control center in the bottom right which I can't see a way to just exit from there.

Are you talking about CCC? I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about a different program for ati drivers called ATT (Ati Tray Tools). It's different next to CCC.

yes I think so, I never saw anything speciffically different then the one icon in the bottom right in the "tray", that's why I called them tray tools.
