First time poster, Libya in PR?

Hey guys, first time poster in the PR forums. What do you guys think of having a Libyan rebel vs Qaddafi Forces? It seems like it could be pretty do able, mostly skins and maps. Maybe just modify the MEC forces, and the insurgents factions to be more Libyan-esque? What do you guys think?
Sorry for any noob ignorance.

The DEV's don't usually take suggestions usually for maps and factions, but we're glad you've shown interest in the MOD
MEC = most arab armies including libya etc.
fighting someone like the militia with desert camo would work well with that situation, if you're interesting in creating a map like this for PR please try these forums.

Really, just making an MEC vs. Insurgents map would serve this exact purpose. Maybe change some weapons and vehicles.

Maybe a new game mode: "Arab Spring", where one team starts out as all civilians and every time one gets shot, he respawns as a militia?
With full NATO air support

There was a map called
Benghazi in the works by community member Reddeath. However, he enlisted in USMC, and he had to drop the development. You might want to know about it, though.

That*...
Medal of Honor got flak just for having "Taliban" or Taliban look alikes in the game... this game of course hasn't because it doesn't have the publicity, but I think some people may find it "in bad taste" if you have actual relious forces fighting at the same time they are in real life.
I'm not saying I find it in bad taste, but people get butt hurt about stuff, then the write reviews on ModDB and bring this games numbers down. I'm all for this game recreating actual events and battles that take place in real life, and recreate them as realistically as possible, but that'll just be too much effort for a 2 factions that really would only serve a purpose on 1 or 2 maps.

I def understand where you are coming from, but I mean, hell they made Iraq and Afghanistan maps, so as far as on going conflicts being ruled out, well heck.

Right, that's why I said,

What I was trying to say, is it's better to just make MEC fight Insurgents, because that's almost what it's like.

Why aren't other conflicts mentioned?
This Libya thing is quite mainstreamed, nothing but Libya on forums, sites, television and newspaper.
People here support people that murder other people and children for freedom? I do remember an article stating that about 60% of all beginner terrorists for Al-Qaida of Libya came from Benghazi and that NATO troops support the terrorists in Libya with wich they fight in Afghanistan.
Strange thing right?

lolz, the Libyian conflict has been going on for 6 months now and you make a topic on it just as it is coming to a close?

Ineed, if this is something you want to see in PR, its really up to the community to make it. We (the PR developers) are really streched with our current projects and can't drop them to make everyone's suggestions. Do what we all did at one point or anouther and make it yourslef
Everything you need to know to start mapping is in this topic here:

Indeed, Readdeath had totally the right idea, its just a shame he can't finish the project now

COD does basically the same thing, you fighting as the opfor, but you look like the freaking Talbian, however, that overrated kiddie console game doesn't get any flak for it...

If I was Libyan I could easily see those UN forces bombing the hell outta my country and think they were my enemy. I could watch disorganized militant convoys and assume they are coming to destroy my town sometime soon.
On the flip side I could also watch Khadafi abuse his power and think he was the enemy.
Perspective can be a helpful tool to understanding.

yeah, on my way home from the mall one day some idiots were handing out fliers that said "STOP the criminal bombing of libya by NATO forces!"
naturally i told them to **** off when they badgered me for not taking one. many people just don't know a damned thing about the world around them and simply assume military action is wrong or going overboard.

That's your opinion on what is going on there, I presume that you think that NATO forces are spending billions and billions into war instead of healthcare and children of their own people just to give Libyans freedom?
Yeah seems legit..

Personally I don't think that we need to add new armies, But I would like to have some new teckies based on what the anti gadifi forces are seen using in news reports. A pick up truck with a large AA gun in the back sounds really usefull against choppers.

HAHA that's just silly. of course not. however it is still important that we do not allow a government to commit crimes such as bombing it's own people. sure we may not be in there with the best intentions but for now that support is better than watching them die.
it's like having a man on fire. maybe you just want to put out the flame so he'll give you a few hundred bucks in gratitude, but either way you saved his life.
now then back on topic. i support this idea however don't think it would be a worthwhile undertaking for the Dev team. perhaps you can start your own community mod.
