Description:
No flag symbols on maps when 1st time loading...

Steps to Reproduce:
go on map Silent Eagle Skirmish or Kozelsk Skirmish.

Screenshots / Video:
nothing, but its just that you do see white (neutralized) flags, but as soon as capped it disappears...

Tested On:
Silent Eagle Skirmish and Kozelsk Skirmish. Other maps not affected. V. 0973

Video Settings (if needed):
Gainward GTX 570 1280 MB
Full settings and 1680x1050

I tested both maps (in local mode and dedicated server mode) and wasn't able to reproduce this.





Were you playing on an internet server?
Did other players notice the same thing?

Mostly likely it was just an issue with BF2 as sometimes the flag markers glitch, etc. But if it happens again, can you take a screenshot and see if others have the same problem?

This happens alot, when theirs a server crash a bug can appear that the flags are not loading or something game restart will fix it

Yeah, think too when I just reload map again it's fixed. I am the only one experiencing this bug...

Mine: Win7 HP 64 bit, 4 GB RAM, i7 2600K, 2TB Harddisk, Gainward GTX 570 Phantom.

I remember this happened when 96 came out. The IDF flag that we needed to capture on Gaza didn't show for the whole IDF team. We had no idea where to go and the team bled tickets.

That was actually a bug with the 0.96 Gaza AASv4 set-up... which got fixed in 0.97

This happens to me sometimes after loading a new map, despite map and gamemod. Usually rejoining the server fixes it.

This happens to me too on various maps and gamemodes from time to time.
IIRC correctly sometimes I don't see any capped flags, sometimes I am missing only my teams' flags, sometimes only the enemys' flags.

Didn't try to reload when that happens though yet, as I don't find it that much of a problem
as soon as you know the order of the flags and with the "Attack" and "Defend" markers still there it somehow just adds to immersion

I found out, that it may have to do with you have to wait after loading, when the "Join game" button appears you wait 10 sec. more, with Fraps FPS you see the FPS dropping for a second from 100 to 1 and then going up again, then you join game and the problem is gone. I do that for every game.
