Soldier Acceleration

Just looking to get a bit of feedback on this change that was made in v0.96.
Compared to v0.95 and previous, soldiers now accelerate to top running speed slightly slower. This is seen in when you change movement directions.
So the question is:
Leave the acceleration alone, it's perfect as it is now.
Revert back to 0.95 settings.
Increase the rate of acceleration slightly, but have it less than what was in 0.95.

I like how it is now, its perfect! (just put down the minimum stamina required to run by 3 bars, that would help alot, or maybe 2)

Sorry this might be off topic, but sometimes when I get close to a obstacle like a low fence, I press the jump key, but my character will not jump. Is it coded so you have to be moving in order to jump? It's kind of frustrating to not be allowed to get over a obstacle when you are under fire.

I believe it's an anti dolphin dive/bunny hopper thing. When you're running and stops there's a second or so where you're blocked for being able to jump or prone. It's not perfect but it's what necessary to prevent people abusing this type of gameplay. Think about it as you slide a little before going to a full stop from sprinting
On topic: I love the new sprint system and I absolutely love that we can sprint a little further now.

Mahi im not so sure, i found out that i only cannot jump if im too close to the object im trying to jump over and pushing into it, and even if i tap repeatedly nothing will happen, so i have to back away a bit and then jump over.
Otherwise i think the acceleration and everything is cool.

It rarely really notice the change, except when I quickly change direction while running - then it indeed seems very logical that my character stops for a brief moment before speeding up again, and that surely helps with aiming at running enemies who quickly change direction.
So.... I can't say the change was very game-changing (if I wasn't told about it I probably would've assumed the game had always been like that), but for future changes, all I'll say is: Whatever you do, don't increase the 'jog' speed of general movement, I really like to think of that as somewhat of a walking pace

The acceleration is fine as it is now.
A bit off-topic but still speaking of movement, I hate how in PR/BF2 when I'm trying to jump over a wall onto something else and the character doesn't jump when I want to (there appears to be an issue when trying to jump when touching a low wall/object), then when he finally decides to jump onto the wall he slides off it and then falls down and due to the soldiers having osteoporosis in PR he breaks his legs/hip/back and dies. So rage inducing.

Not to be to specific but speed is not the same thing as acceleration.
And about acceleration. It's amazing right now cause multiple times(in previous versions) i encountered enemies suddenly run (at full possible speed), after you miss your first shot from the distance like they had no equipment on them (no heavy rifle and ammo, no grenades, no hat's/lats) just like they were running naked. Too big acceleration ruins the immersion and enemies can almost dodge bullets like in matrix by running in zig zag pattern.
Please leave it as it is

When I try to jump in real life immediately while running, I jump forward mostly...
If I had to get over some sort of low wall, I would crash into it and fall over, landing with my face.
So I think PR is fine this way.

To be clear this is topic about acceleration - not the speed of soldier, right? I mean can we get poll for the speed as well?
I like slower acceleration, feels better.
EDIT:
Also I missclicked and voted for option 2 instead of 1. -.-

I would have an option #4 - Reduce stamina and sprinting speed.
Because in this version soldiers with full gear are as speedy as athletes.

I agree but I think it's not the topic. I find speed increase to be one of the worst changes in 0.96, incredible speed + deviation don't come in pair, makes game frustrating and a bit quake-alike in term of movement (exclude bunny jumps and rocket jumping

).

Sprint system is much better.
I like the fact you can sprint more often.
I think we should be able to start sprinting with 2 or 3 less bars.

+1
The game feels alot more arcady now (VBF2) and not realistic.
You can get into firefight and your squad taken out.
You all respawn at an other flag or worse.. main. Run back to old position and kill the other squad before they can revive their fallen soldiers.
I think the times are around..
1km run/sprint:
PR 0.95 = 5min
PR 0.96 = 3min 30 sec
VBF2 = 3min 30 sec

The increase wasn't nearly that drastic. Seriously, play some vBF2 and then say that again :s
But; as I said, I kinda agree. I like slow movement more than fast movement.

Sprinting speed with full gear on is actually pretty realistic (about 100m/17s) but stamina is regenerating way too fast.

If anything, i'd add 2 or 3 bar instant stamina consumption upon starting to sprint, you need more power to accelerate.

Brilliant idea! i hope it is not hard-coded.

Funny, one would think that carrying 20-40kg of equipment will cause some drag, and have a days rest in more than a minute.
