Mercy Shot?

Being newbie in the game I have to ask if it's possible to kill wounded enemies.
I ask that because there are a few times that while engaging the enemies I have (a big) window of opportunity to change kits (Insurgency) with the few tangos I killed and I hear them coughing waiting for the medics and I wanted to give them a mercy shot to prevent them to suffer. (or in other word to kill them 4 sure)
So it is possible to KILL wounded Enemies??
Thanks in advance

If you drop a grenade on them it seems to kill them for good, but whether that is worth it I will leave up to you.

Dead bodies in BF2 have hitpoints just like the living players or vehicles. Now I'm not sure how much HP they have in PR but if I remember correctly vBF2 wounded had 150 hitpoints.

if you fire a few HE shells from an APC e.g. Warrior it will make them 'dead dead'. Same with a tank one HEAT shell wounds them, second usually kills them for good

Incendaries used to work. As did grenades. Not any more to my knowledge though.

explosives work, but the PR team was not enamoured of the 'coup de grace' - it went against the grain for us.

IRL you're probably going to be more concerned with the other guy who has a UGL that already has you zeroed in or hiding than finishing off someone that will probably give up when he's too far from medics.

In game it can be the guy with the UGL you just shot that got revived behind you be a hidden medic. People in game won't give up all that quickly, body riddled with bullets because you felt you had to take a chance, no problem. Have a snack, wait for the medic.
It should be harder to revive instead of just a quick stab, simular to wrenching or something maybe.

PR makes me rage so bad when I take 5 out of 6 guys in a squad then I get sniped, the guy proceeds to grab the medic kit, revives everyone and poof it's like nothing happened. FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU

PR:A2 has this feature, but PR:BF2 seems to have removed the ability to dead-dead an opponent with small arms/grenades (although I seem to recall being frag naded to black screen not all that long ago, I might be mistaken though).
If you've dealt with the majority of a squad, or if say you kill a SAW camp their body and wait for the medic to come speeding in for an easy kill. It's something I notice players do on INS but rarely AAS, and I think camping bodies till they give up is a very sound tactic that I use/abuse often.
Let them suffer.

If they haven't given up, then that usually means there is a friendly nearby they are counting on to revive them. I say sit back and wait for em. They'll walk right into your ambush and then you'll know they are dead dead.
It's their choice to wait out the 5 min wounded timer. Don't feel bad for them.

I do still think it's possible with grenades indeed. Had it happen several times in 0.977 still.

Hide IED under a kit.
Wait from somewhere far away.
Press the button.
No more revive for any of them. XD

One more reason to play as a squad right?

I was thinking in something like this but I guess PR doesn't have it.
I'll try to knife the wounded just for fun and see

^they have hit points, but only get damaged by explosive stuff, if an APC or attack chopper keeps shooting your wounded body youll dead dead pretty fast

I think it goes against the Geneva Conventions to kill a soldier that's sick or wounded, same goes for killing civilians and prisoners of war.
Besides that, it's better to leave him wounded and have him call his buddies for help. When they show up you pin them down in an ambush and you now neutralised the full squad..
Maybe the option to kill should be there but with minus points for violating the rules, much like shooting a civilian.

Well, they might keep the downed soldiers alive for propaganda videos...

don't fight them alone then
this is a team game, no matter how awesome you are, you need friends to complete the objective
