Well let me introduce my self. I am mattnett1 aka matty1053 in game.

This happens so much I can't even talk about it.

Here is the main bug..
You can't create a squad
Or
Join a Squad.

I remember this one person created a squad before the Bug happened and boy is this annoying. This happens to everyone about 1 in 20 times playing. Just happened to me 2 times in Tact Gamer and Hardcore Skilled.

Jesus Christ!!! I was pretty mad. But thank god the whole team on Tact Gamer was on mumble you didn't really need a squad unless you wanted a different kit.


This happened a TON in .96. And it happens more in .97 It is like 1 in every 4 games.

.97 is pretty glitchy/buggy. I have tons of more bugs I run into, but i will post them in a few days so it doesn't look like I am spamming.

ALSO... This is impossible to take a picture of... why? Because it looks normal. IT would be possible to video tape it.. I will try to ASAP.

Squad bug is a vBF2 issue that the devs can't do much about. If there was a way to fix it, we wouldn't have all the squad bugs appearing. It's less frequent in vBF2 because almost no one creates squads.

It's a BF2 bug, unrelated to PR.

There is a rather specific way that it works, which I won't go into details about... but prior to 0.95 it could be done intentionally very easily. Nowadays not so much, but there are still instances where it will happen... unfortunately just a grin & bear it scenario

I haven't seen a squad bug for a month at least.

You've been very unlucky if you have them occur every 4 matches. I've only seen one since 0.96 and that was a couple of days ago. Just a matter of rebooting the server (since the squadbugs occur at the start of the round usually, for some reason) and swap the map back to where it was in the rotation. Takes the players maybe 5 minutes but in the end it's for the best.

It is however a problem that can't be fixed, only worked around as much as possible.

I haven't seen a squad bug for a year or so but then again, I don't get to play so much lately.

If I remember correctly squad bugs occur when someone with a fast computer loads the map faster than the server does. IE a player enters the map before the briefing timer even has begun and creates a squad.

With the latest releases we experience the squadbug very rarely on our server.
Personally I can only remember one time in 0.96&0.97.

Very rarely have I ever seen squad bug.

And I'm pretty sure it would be futile to make a video, or take pictures, tbh.

I haven't ran into one since i posted this... Can be closed admin.

I can't remember the last time I ran into a squadbug. I believe you're either overreacting a little, or you're just very unlucky.

Gotta love asset whores Always gotta start a squad too early just so they can claim it for themselves, or their friends.

Thats a myth, the squad bug isn't related to the ingame counter. AFAIK you could recreate it by closing and opening multiple squads really fast in a row.

As Brainlaag said, this has never been confirmed. People just like to blame people.

Nothing we can do about the squad bug, we have tried several different things, but nothing has worked.
