I was skiming through google images under Grenade Launchers and came across this...

It's a 40mm grenade launcher that attaches to the under side of the helicopter near the nose, that's what I call fire power, think about how usefull this could be against ground troops. And if this cant be done, atleast give some of the choppers in the game side turrents with 40mm grenade launchers.

That's an old M75 (or later M129) automatic grenade launcher; a relative of the Mk-19, firing the same 40 x 53mm ammunition. The UH-1 "snake" in Battlefield Vietnam had one in the M5 chin/nose turret configuration controlled by the co-pilot, which was authentic. It was also used on the AH-1G and AH-1S versions of the Cobra, mounted coaxially in the chin-turret with an M134 7.62mm minigun

It also was used on the hardpoints of OH-6 and OH-58.

This system, however, has been out of service since the 1970s, and to my knowledge, 40mm automatic grenade launchers have not been fielded on US aircraft since then. One company is offering a helicopter door mount for the Mk-19, Mod 3, but as far as I know, none of the services are even evaluating it, yet.

Same here, the Desert Strike games from EA were some of my favorites. Except Urban Strike, that was kind of disappointing after Jungle Strike.

Just as a side note, the Russians produced a pod-contained version of the AGS-17 "Plamya" 30mm automatic grenade launcher for mounting on their helicopters, mostly the Mi-24 (never heard of it being used on others). Not sure if it's still produced, in use or how widely it has been proliferated.

Thats correct. Those were some pretty heavy power bringers but many had problems with jamming issues.
