If you didn't know, insurgent or taliban player can walk right next to the built up hideout and hide inside it by pressing "E" looking at the "entrance" of hideout (if you imagine it as a dog box than you'll easily find the entrance).

I've never used this as a tool for ambushing. And have never heard or seen it done by someone. Just some joking around entering and exiting. So, have you seen it being used as a tool for (successful/unsuccessful) ambush? And do you think it can be used in that way effectively?

Also I'd like to know is the spawn "animation" the same as getting out from the hideout "animation"? That is, can one tell the difference between insurgents spawning and insurgents climbing out of the hideout?

Although I have seen it been used by putting arty IED in it, that way when a squad with a humvee comes to knife it.. well.

You can stay in for as long as you want.. But you can NEVER GET OUT.

Wrong. Everyone can get in hideouts. You may also get out. There's only room for one, though, so there's not much use of it.

No, you can not. While being inside the hideout, you can only see out of one side. You may not use any weapons. So if you ask me, it's useless.

Not completely. If your're about to be overrun, you can go in there and hide. When they come to knife it, jump out, shoot the guy who tried to knife it, and perhaps a few more. Will cost them a couple more tickets than simply retreating from the area or fighting normally would have.

I have done this a few times, rather out of desperation and the hope "to take a few of the rat bas***ds with me" theory of game play.

My hint, switch to grenade before entering the hideout. when you get out, toss the nade and press "primary weapon key" immediately, and spray and pray.

Does it protect you from grenades after you kill the 'knife guy'?

After reading through comments, I can see one good and kinda trololol tactic. As a crazy insurgent, you jump out of your dogbox and while the poor BLUFOR guy switches his rifle to melee to knife your hideout, you drop your nade, and get back in the dogbox, boom off goes the nade and everything in ten meter radius. Theoretically it should save you from the explosion.

I wonder what happens to the "inhibitant" if the hideout gets destroyed?

I remember sitting in it while infidel APC started blasting it.

I was fine until the hideout is destroyed...took zero damage...

I think the hideout should be an 6-seat vehicle with 2 seats in the dark and 4 seats looking to one of the four sides.
Would be perfect...it IS a HIDEout, no?

The whole purpose of "hideout" is for people to hide in it...
