I'm looking for a decent pci-e addon soundcard which works perfect with BF2/PR.
It should be easy to locate sounds where they come from (on normal headphones).

Right now I have a Creative X-FI PCI. But their drivers are just too bad.

Any experiences with recent Asus cards?

I would spend about 100-150 Euros. What can you recommend?

May I ask what motherboard you have/on-board sound?

This is because all new games use DX10 or later now, it makes creatives EAX software irrelevant(As they now use directX for sound processing, hence why BF3/BF:BC2 sound so good), or close to as long as your on-board sound card can handle 128 voices(which most realtek HD cards can) there will be little to no difference in sound.


However the ASUS soundcards seem to have better reviews and drivers as there are less complaints.

Yeh, i know, with newer games it doesn't matter so much what card you have.
But I need one for BF2 in the first place.
