What Are Strategies for Tactical Squads on Herp Derp Servers?

How do you perform at your best when you absolutely can not rely on (and possibly need to avoid) your team mates? What are strategies that will maximize your efficiency and lifespan when battling in the most chaotic of tactical cluster-fucks? I would very much like to know.

On servers like Hardcore where you can't rely on the rest of the team its imperative you have a contingency plan for when things to wrong, IE a flag gets lost behind you since noone is defending it, thus you need transport.
On HOG and Hardcore I'll mention to my squad that we can't rely on any other players and must be as independent as possible, including logistics and FOB building.

If you are an Inf squad on foot: For me in situations like this you need to be highly flexible and maneuverable. Poke and prod until you find a way through, if you meet a lot of resistance, probably fall back and look for another way.
I think its also true that in those "chaotic cluster-fuck" situations, just go for the objective. If everyone on the server is playing fast and really loose, chances are the flags or caches are not being well defended. So just go fuckin' kill 'em. It can work surprisingly well, and although its a gamble, in certain situations getting in a truck or chopper and heading directly (or indirectly) for the objective is worth at least one shot.
Assuming you want to defend: Well, that's easy, find a T-building or similar defensible position, make sure your squad actually IS defending it properly (at least one pair of eyes on the stairs at all times), AR poons anyone it sees, and... profit? (This also works when attacking tbh

)

I often perform a tactical rage quit or disconnect and find a better server.

Stealth is a powerful tool, not to be confused with ignorance.
At most times your squad will not be able to take on the entire enemy team, which is what will happen if you engage too early. Ignore the enemy! Its okay to do so, let them be someone else's problem if you can avoid a confrontation.
Webcole : Just go kill em
Absolutely, often finding "the best flanking route known to gaming" can lead you straight into another squad or worse, the straight line nowadays tends not to be covered as much as the other approaches and can sometimes be cleared with just one kill.

yes avoid all contact. engage only if ure sure u can take down the enemy. hit and run tactic is also working pretty well.

Shout at some people on TS, get em to join the server and BANG! You have a tactical squad on a herp derp server.

You could act as a flanker for your squad, where you split with ur squad (but stay close), so when they are engaging, you run around the back of the enemy then attack. (devastatingly effective)
Also, if you are alone, if you see a squad, shoot a guy that is a bit futher away form the main squad. Hide. Then wait for their medic and attack from roofs or grenade and run.

When I play on kokan, I grab a humvee, get 4 guys in my squad, and I assign them roles:
Medic
Specialist
AR, no optics
Rifleman Optics
When my squad is formed and in my humvee, I drive like a banshee screaming from hell, my Rifleman is spotting contacts from the 50, and we search for enemy coming from buildings.
We got 4 caches in 30 minutes using this method.
The only thing your team requires to be good, is one, good, squad. Everybody else somehow just falls in line.

This all you need to know. To play defensive AND effective is hella boring but it pays off and pray the rest aka headless chickens do some damage.
As for INS, there's too many variables to consider if you're in the Blufor side. But it's wise to fulfill a need that team is lacking. A vital one like logistics, transportation, mortars, etc.
You can go spec ops if you wish, but you better know how to keep your squad tight and take the longest and most discrete route to catch the cache defense with their pants down - more appropriately, avoid where the rest of your team is, let them be the distraction you need.

Depends if you play tacticool or not.
If you play tacticool, just sit in a building and use it as a spawn point for friendlies, with tow, HMG, that kind of thing. Enemies attack you, get intel ??? PROFIT. Or just get an APC to run around supporting you, as long as you kill the RPGS
If you don't, just run around with a bunch of good people, and get kills. Insurgents chill around the cache, so if you see you're killing the same person on the same time, you're by a cache

Find a buddy on Xfire or teamspeak and have him lead a second infantry squad. Two coordinated blobs are better than one.

I saw your clan-mates do that on a server a couple of days ago. Didn't really work out that well.

Its like going to a bed with a seemingly hot chick, then when things gets hot, you can feel her boner. This thread is asking "Where do i put it now?". It's your thing if you wanna stay.
No wasting time on fail teams. Or fail servers for that matter.

The kits I use if I just can't get people to pull together is first Rifleman AT, if I can't get it Grenadier with irons. In my mind that are the two kits that can deal the most damage all over on their own. Then just stay away from the rest and try to have fun.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the 1337-znipz0r kit. Good boy.

Snipers don't do damage, especially not when the team can't pull together. Then snipers only annoy people. I mean, when has a lone sniper ever done any real damage to the other team on his own? No spotter, no CAS working with you, no teammates telling you where targes for you are. AFAIK, never.

So you're guy who hand delivers the LAT to the INS guys, I bet the CE kit not being usable by the enemy takes the fun out of using it? (In AAS I agree the LAT is a powerful tool in the rights hands).
