Low damage on minigun?

It seems that way for me...
I was on Kashan Desert we were hovering giving firing support to a INF sq in the bunkers and I was shooting at this whole squad for AT LEAST 2 minutes and the bullets DID hit at least 5 of them. They didn't die? This enemy was in teh middle with no cover and I hit him at least 30 times with my minigun, and he did NOT die?

It's pretty odd that they have it like that. I KNOW that Miniguns can do damage to tanks in real life.

Sounds like poor hit detection to me. Welcome to Battlefield 2, not much to do.

if he didnt die you only think you hit him, the minigun destroys inf if you can actually hit them, its just in needs a lot of bullets against vehicles, it takes forever to even kill a civi car

Their supposed to be replaced by M240s anyway

as conman says, m240s will eventually replace the miniguns.

however until then the miniguns are not actually as powerful as their RL counterparts

this is actually because BF2 cannot phyically give the rounds per minute of a real minigun, there is a small radius of damage to compensate for now

Thanks... But In REALITY, the minigun can kill and rape a bike... it doesn't.

Rudd already answered you. I would speculate it might also be to discourage people from using the BHs as gun platforms.

In reality, there are also fastropes.
In reality, the view-distance is greater.
In reality, you would be dead-dead after a head-shot.

not if it hits you in the helmet. I've seen people who've taken shots to the helmet and be perfectly fine minus a bit of neck pain.

I know. But still.

Also you can't really die from a head shot, if you are wearing a helmet you can. My uncle is in the Afghan war now... He says he has seen troops get shot 1-4 times in the head's helmet and you don't really get hurt.
Just either Ears ringing for about 3-9 days straight. Or hurt neck.

thats from 30 second google search. Tons of Youtube videos of US Army guys getting hit in helmets with their cams hhahah. And I thought it was wrong to actually post the videos with servicemen with traumatic injuries after surviving a shot to face or head...

But yeh survivable.

Back on topic its not strong enough because of balance.

EDIT

My bad Rudd.
