Weapons not firing from their barrels

I noticed that in PR (and in vBF2 too) the weapons don't fire from their barrels, but from from center of your vision. How about implementing a fix for that? This is what I mean

It's pretty simple. Oh, and I would appreciate if someone moved it so suggestions subforum, because I can't post there yet.

I think I remember seeing this before. It boils down to we have too many weapons in game, and it would be just too much to regulate all sights and adjust bullet raise (and, consequently, bullet drop) in every weapons.

Though I'd really like something that made the gun fire from lower on the screen (even if the actual vision is moved down) because right now you can fire with less than a nail-size of your head sticking out of cover.

those are pretty cool, the alpha project have a great skillset.

Re barrels, the primary problem is preventing the guns being able to fire through things that you shouldn't be able to.

Did you mean allowing? :) Yes, you can actually shoot through walls, but maybe a simple collisionmesh would prevent it. And yes, dynamic echo took me only about an hour to do. We had a small chat about putting this in PR, but devs decided that it sounds quite not realistic and it would cause muting if a lot of player would shoot at the same time. Actually it does mute even if you spray just one mag, or sometimes in a single shot.

Not really. I could see no difference at all when firing at long range from M4 ACOG. Implementing that to all weapons in game would take no more than an hour, if you would not hestitate to take your time, half an hour if you were rushing.

I must say, I'm impressed by both, the prone/stand up animation stuff and bullets coming out of barrels...

Nevermind, I tested it with bots and they just look at the sky and spin. If you want to use it despite this fact, make all the weapons use multiFireComp with fireInCameraDof 0 and barrelName e_muzz_m4 or whatever muzzle effect the weapon is using, nothing more. Thanks for attention.
