Sup guys, just ordered a new PC yesterday for my brother, and im looking for some feedback.


Now this pc is gonna be used for PR< which i think it can run smoothly , but ill stil need some feedback for PR Specs. This PC is mainly for BF3, so feedback on that is appreciated as well.

Alienware Auroura Desktop
Genuine WIndows 7 Home 64bit
INtel Core i7 2600 (8mb Cache) Overclocked turbo boost to 3.9GHz
2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6950 [Video Card]
2 Terabyte RAID 0 (2x 1TB) SATA II (3gb/s) 7200 RPM (2x 32MB cache)

Edit**** forgot about ram : 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHZ

Feeback is needed, and if you have the same PC please post your storys about times you have taken it to the limit and back again.

As i was orderin it i talked to a Dell Associate and he game me the upgrade from an 15 to an i7 for 50$ more.

I think i got a good deal.

To be honest, since you already got it doesn't really matter

Alienware charges to much for PC's They are good gaming machines, but you can build your own or buy from another company, i.e IbuyPower. for about 500-800 less.

Other than that you's good.

Yes, Alienware are too pricey for what they actually achieve.

You can build your own machine with same specs for $500-$1000 less as the guy above said.

I agree 100%, but wasn't really going to say anything since he already bought it, I'm sure it's a great pc, but I don't know much of anything about Alienware computers since they are DELL, I don't know if you can change many parts since they might be proprietary to DELL parts.

Jesus, I built mine close to that for like $600, I had to bust my *** to win auctions on Ebay , just that mine is i5 2500K OC 4.22 GHz and not in RAID but I use SSD. But yeah, yours will work out great with ANY game now. You dont even need to upgrade for few years even.

Nice rig mate, although you could've got it for 800-900 if you've built it yourself. Alienware's are overpriced

C2 has less system requirements than C1 so this makes no sense.

really farcry is harder to run than crysis?

CE1 is farcry
CE2 crysis and warhead
CE3 crysis 2

But he is talking about the Crysis gameseries, not the Engine
Would recommend an SSD too.

I sad C as in Crysis not CE as in CryEngine.

Consoles can use a dumbed down CryEngine 3 but they can't run on CryEngine 2.

I actually checked every post to make sure that someone said this.

Building your own computer is essential to not being a chump and having a good rig. Plus its fun. PLUS in learned the basics of how to put a computer together and all the relevant information required to actually understand why those parts are working together and hooking up together which should be piled on top of the vast reservoir of info gained in researching every part, every nut and every bolt in your prospective machine, you will be able to troubleshoot all manner of issues in your rig without having to hire some overpriced geek to tell you that you forgot to plug it in.

Cannot overstate how satisfying it is the first time the blue lights (or whatever colour your bitchin' case's lights are) flicker on and you see that boot screen.

I also highly suggest not asking people questions about the viability of a product after you buy it. I mean... isn't this what you should be doing before you shill out a couple thou?

But with all that said, enjoy the epic scenery. Top of the line rigs don't last long (as far as staying top of the line) but for the time they are, oh man its pretty freaking epic.
