So, when I set up the planes for the blueprints, I get the middle one black because there are 2, one for the front side and for the back side.
Here's the screenshots:
I searched on Google and didn't find a solution, anyone knows how to fix that?

Here ya go.
'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino;903200']First of all, when modelling for BF2 always have backface cull on, as this will render faces the same way BF2 dose, ie, if there is no face there it wont show it, where when you have it off it will add faces on to the back side of a face, making it look like there is a face in some places where there is simply no face. to do this simply select the object(s) and go into there object properties and check the box shown below.

Also what's not said there is if you go to Customize at the top, > Preferences > Viewports tab, then check the Box in the top right section "Backface cull on object creation" will then make all new boxes etc you create have this option by default

BTW I personally don't use the method of having ref images on planes as you can't see the ref in wireframe mode and in normal mode, you can't see parts of the ref behind the model
I use the viewport background option myself, although pretty hard to setup just right it pays off once you have

Just make a keyframe with low opacity for the material so you can switch between solid and transparant surfaces.

Still can't see it in wireframe (which is where I do most of my work, especially when using 2D refs)

Yeah I know it's better to use the viewport background method but it's a pain in the *** to set it up as you said

ye, its not too hard once you know what your doing, only takes me a few secs now.
Main thing is to save a square image with your ref on it, bg colour the same as max's bg colour, then to make a box with the largest width and length or w/e of w/e your making, then match the scale up with that by turning off "Lock Zoom/Pan" in the options", then once you have the exact scale in there, lock the zoom/pan, sorted

(although then may need to re-align your model to the BG as it centres it, but not a huge problem)
