[?] Anyway to flood a map?

Hi, after gathering some ideas and looking up some tutorials again, I want to go back in mapping. My main problem is that I would love to flood my map with the same texture, because hand painting a 2km map is long (I know that BF2Editor can't by default)...I tried TPaint but it isn't really what I was looking for.
I got one question before starting, if I flood a map, with what kind of texture should I do it? A low texture one? Or is it ok to fill a map with a Detail texture? Kindda new with the terms also
Any 3rd party programs that could do it? (Like L3DT or something, I read that in a post by Rhino)
Thanks.

TPaint is perfect for that. Just change the grad_height.tga file so it's completely black, then add your texture to "low". It'll paint your whole map that texture.

LowDetailTextures are something you pick, not paint, and you can change it any time without having to re-paint.

If you want more choices for your low detail textures, then look at battlefield/bfeditor/rawdata/common/terrain/textures/lowdetail. If there are only a couple there, then you can grab them from the maps themselves by going to mods/bf2/levels. Each map folder will have a client.zip. Inside is a file called lowdetailtexture.dds. Copy that into the folder above and give it a name. That should give you plenty of choices.

Ok thanks alot AFscoccer!
I won't need to flood my map as I already started to work on other part, so flooding it would kill all my other textures, well.. most of them.

lol ive never heard of the term flooding in regards to textures.
Heres the video tutorial for tpaint if you decide to use it. Explains things a bit more.
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f189-m ... video.html
What I do is I take the colorbig.tga file that tpaint generates, and then I edit that in photoshop to add any textures that will take to long to do in the editor (eg large areas of concrete).
Then I use this tutorial to tsplit it.
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f189-m ... rmaps.html
If you want the whole map to be just one flat texture then see the second part of my tpaint tutorial on how to edit the grad_angle and grad_height files. If you make those files just pure black it will make the whole map just one texture.

Sounds cool!
When I first read the title I thought that you were going to make a map where the water constantly was rising.
