What's going on?

Doesn't it depend on the server...?

The title says "Globally", so I guess Jafar means... Globally.
The answer is no. VOIP is working perfectly fine on the PRTA server.

might be that ur VOIP client has stopped working Jafar, restart computer and have another go

I'm pretty sure he asked other players on the server, Rudd. And they probably said that they are having the same problem.

I'd still restart the computer anyway, could be something to do with the particular server's VOIP setup, a problem serverside causing issues for all teh clients currently connected to it

VOIP is done on a per-server basis, there isn't anything that can take down VOIP globally on a server side afaik

So, noone else is having this issue, right? If not, I'll move this to tech support and rename the thread.

it is server or client related. Cant be global.

So; What's your OS, and what server did it happen on? Did you try a restart? Has anyone else experienced the same on that server?

Windows 7, and it wasn't just me.

Servers I played on today that had VOIP issues: 26MEU, =]H[=, TG. Other players were having issues as well. 26MEU's voip has been down for quite a while.

Thats why people use Mumble and TS3...I barely use ingame VOIP but I keep then up on my servers. They might have problems with hosts, as they might be using external voip servers which runs separately from game server instance. Globally no it cant be. But it might happen if they have the same IP ( read on same host machine - sharing it or whatever ) and using same ports in all server instances...that will cause "global" conflict for servers running on that same IP.

From what I could tell last night VOIP is still down. Prompted me to finally setup VENT (I use TS) for the Hardcore server.

Does anyone know why this problem persists?

Well, the 26MEU did a full server restart and the VOIP is now working

Ours is related to a conflict with our Battlefield 3 servers. I'm not even remotely able to comprehend the issue. A few of our members and server host are working on it.

Voip issue on Hardcore server resolved.

Good stuff, good to know its resolvable too, if you wouldn't mind posting the details in teh SA section that would be fantastic, to ensure other admins can correct the issue as well
