So i havent played PR in a while but when i did i had a lot of good memories of teamwork etc when i joined a squad and we cleared a flat and then had to hide from a tank :P

but i recently went back on PR and joined a server and i didnt see much teamwork :/ is there a certain time of day when most team players get on or was it just a bad day??

Memories of teamwork in PR are just that... memories. They'll be tainted both by rose tinted glasses and the fact that the rest of the craptastic rounds you played to get that one great round of teamwork were filtered out of your memory bank.

There definitely was a heyday for PR's teamwork (at least on the Australian server) which ended around 0.8-0.85, but great rounds can still be found if you're willing to stand up between the not-so-great rounds and push that teamwork boulder uphill, alone if you have to.

The more people who continually push for teamwork, the more teamwork will naturally follow.

^ This. The **** rounds vastly outweigh the good ones, it all depends on whether or not you're willing to put in the hard yards (read: time, lots of time) to get those good un's.

You can help that by playing on the right servers. Stay away from anything 24/7, join a server with a consistently populated Mumble channel and always aim to be better.

I recommend you to play on Tactical Gamer with mumble (mumble is too freaking awesome) when it's on, or you can play on *NwA* too, great teamwork and usage of mumble.

As both Psyrus and Dtacs said, good old PR is gone.

Which for me is a greater truth than anyone who tries to say it was better in the 0.5/0.7/0.8/0.whenever days.

You know what rounds I remember? The freakin' awesome ones. The ones where we cap N. Bunker and immediately get chopper dropped on N. Village with 4 friendly tanks suppressing the AA and Inf, the ones where we boat rush mosque and hold of 3 squads by ourselves until the rest of the team catches up.

But I don't make the mistake of thinking those were the only rounds I ever played.

First thing : Bring back this song for the menu :

To be honest, the new one is not that good, at all :?

This one above has so much feel into it.

But I think that it's the playerbase that has widely changed with all the new BF:BC and Call of Duty

Replace the community with the people that played around 0.8, I guess.

Yeah, back in 0.8 - 0.85 the player base was a bit more hardcore. The players were more focused on winning the game rather than making fun with friends.

Now in most rounds, in most squads, it's mostly people making fun, with crazy and idiot tactics and sometimes the squads revolves about : Dieing, respawn, go at same place, same thing. My best rounds were mainly in 0.85.

Also another thing, the player base really changed, in 0.85 I could lead a squad to stay in defense for like 20 minutes without shooting, now in 0.95 some squadmembers are really impatient and just want to shoot and go to the next map. Now I feel that I am just too good and I know everything about the game and it's secrets, I feel a bit too rambo sometimes :( .

So that's why I started mapping for future generations :D

These are the players that have just arrived from other games like Call of Duty or BBC.

I try to play a round every now and then and I must say that I also miss the ~0.8 days. I barely have the patience to play just one round in these days. It's just one big mess when you join a server. Even TG can be chaotic.

The players have changed since "the good old days" and are often more interested in assets than teamwork.

Obviusly as the game becomes more "mainstream" the quality goes down.

Not really what I/we meant.

Sgt.Mahi nailed it.

I agree. I started playing at 0.87, and I was amazed at the teamwork. Every squad I joined was brilliant. Now I join and leave around 5 servers before I find one with a decent squad...

Indeed, in 0.85 people were more cautious with the assests, now everyone takes an APC, rush it into hot zones, die and go grab another one to die at the same place.

I remember the days where a BTR-80 was one of the worst thing to see on the field, now it looks like everybody got an AT weapon near them.
