Battlefield Selling and Distribution

Hey gays!
I was looking at how f.ex. Minecraft has their own game platform and selling point on one website.
We however dont.
And it might be a good thing to get a battlefield 2 1.5 patched downloaded game from this website, all extras included. So we more easily can promote PR and without having to get battlefield 2 then download 1.5 and 1.41.
If somehow we could strike a deal on selling Battlefield 2, either fully patched, or fully PRoject reality ready. on realitymod.com.
Or atleast sell just battlefield 2. Might make more people come to our mod?
The money would go to EA ofc. But we would recive more players.

Also, More players... yes. Retard players sadly included. But if it can be done by setting up BF2+PR+Mumble, that would be sweeeeet win.

I think it is a great idea as then it would allow more people to come and experience the mod and for people in the communities it would be a chance for them to help these new players learn PR and PR would get a bigger player base.

Ok let me say this Mumble is a go either way its free BF2 on the other hand is not but soon enough should be why would EA not allow this the game is outdated the only thing keeping it alive is PR and maybe some WW2 mods but most mods don't touch upon Canada we really need a mod for Canada this is the only Canadian mod i know of out there and i feel that you should make this a install one install and play it can be done but will ea allow it no one is profiting off of it and besides EA has there cheap imitation of BF called Battlefield free to play so why not make it a self install all at once.

Use commas and punctuations.
But yes, there is no game out there i can think off that has norwegian forces coming to such a great game.
A one click solution would be a tremendous help.

There is no punctuation in Canadia.
Also why need Canadian mod... thefk, then id like my Slovenian mod aswell... PR was equally good without Canadian forces, its just more content with them added, but doesnt change a thing.

First part is true.
Other part is all lies
Speaking of battlefield, most likely dice will say no. We're already on the BF2 page under the mod section afaik..

Dice wouldn't deal direct with end of chain retailers.
Easiest way would be to ask steam or EA games (
origin) DL or someone like that if they'd want a link on the DL page?

Well, realitymod.com could just add in downloads the patchs and in a few sections a link to some retailers, this until DICE says "yes" or "no" to realitymod.com became a retailer.
But I think the major problem in PR is the Lack of Publicity. Being Youtube on of the best way of free publicity, only a few channels are dedicated to PR and most of them only have full gameplays (Full Gameplays are good to encourage people to join but aren' the best way of publicity).
In my opinion PR-Devs should make videos to every version they launch, for every event they or a PR-clan make, and lots of tutorials, and a few short funny clips.
In that way a person see a short PR video (ex. Tutorial 15: Flight an A.10), then thinks "This seems Awesome"
*Click Channel*
*See Publicity video -PR.9.973 and Mumble 1.0-*
"OMG, but lets see this better"
*See a full gameplay in a random channel or one associated with PR"
<Download PR>
*See ALL tutorials*
<New Player in PR>
So in this way PR community could have more chances to expand, and the best thing is that the Tutorials would improve the newbies ingame.
Just a thought.

So wicca, did you mean you wanted the entirety of BF2 up on the downloads page, or the v1.5 patch?

He means you can download PR, all the required patches, and BF2 from their website.
Or from ours.
Or both. xD

Must admit it would be really nice if everything you needed (minus vBF2) was available in one big pack, with one installer (dunno if that is possible though). Was putting PR on my brothers machine, and downloading the vBF2 patches, putting them on, then the PR patch, then mumble, it was a bit inconveient.

Yes.
Go forth with my word:
To whom it may concern,
The modification we have created, Project Reality, is the culmination of excellence; making a good game great. We have a dedicated community, dedicated not only to our modification, but to the idea of teamwork; an idea we believe not enough games possess within their foundations.
We realize that currently people can purchase the Battlefield 2 game in a dwindling number of retail stores and seemingly infinitely on the many digital download services like Steam and Direct2Drive. However, in the interest of ease of installation for our community and especially the newcomers who find the installation process cumbersome, we would like to have a direct system of purchasing and downloading your game, Battlefield 2, on our website, so that a newcomer would have an acute incentive to purchase your game and play our mod. Also, so that we may overcome the somewhat tedious installation processes involved with our increasingly expansive modification, we would like to slipstream our modification and our open-source 3D directional communication software into the installation process.
We ask these things of you not because we are lazy, or because we would like some sort of special treatment by your firm, in fact this is quite the opposite. We ask these things of you because we would like to find a way to curb the effects of consumer inertia, which we find rampantly runs through conversations of Project Reality we have with our amazed and dreamy-eyed friends.
Also we suggest, that if we cannot sell the games ourselves, instead to sell your game and our modification, slipstreamed, on the digital download provider Steam. This way, hopefully, we can simply place a button on our website to the Steam store page.
We thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
The Project Reality Development Team & Community

I don't think this would work, the game is outdated. No offense to the PR community but EA probably doesn't care if BF2 sells anymore.

I don't know about that, EA will already have made back the cost of designing BF2, and if its sold over the internet then they have no real cost of production, so its almost pure profit. Mods like PR are essentially free advertising.

UKF is the Industry Liaison, if anything he'll handle it.
Don't think you can have a pre-patched and mod-installed download anyway. You could have the patch and everything else there ready to be installed, though.
