Message moved here (as no one seems not to read SISU server thread - nor reply).

I'm genuinely interested to know btw, no malice intended.
It's same code (BF2 server 1.5). So why not. Moreover, SISU has been running 126 FH2 for a couple of times (rented for FH2).
I tried to find thread about PR > 64 players to ask about (server) testing, but failed. (Excluding closed threads).
So i ask it here and now. (If some mod sees a better place, pls move)
- What's going on with >64 player testing, if anything at all?
- What are PR management teams' plans? Still going for 128?
- Does PR Management have access to 128 code?
- Is the 128 code available for PR community closed testing?
- While SISU apparently does not run tests anymore 'cause of lack of donations, will we see some arrangement for other server?
- If yes to above, can some willing voluntary instance offer a server for 128 testing?
I want my awesome 126p battles on SISU back!

Yes also seeing that Project Normandy will be released soon that would be cool to have a status on the 128players server to see if it could be used for Project Normandy aswell.

Thank you for the needed attention. I think those are all pertinent questions that I've been wanting to ask for a long time.

yes, 64 players is too small sometimes. I hope to see more 128 servers.
Kashan and a few other maps have so many assets many of them are left unmanned, or there simply isnt enough infantry to fight for flags.

Wait with patience mate! I believe it will be released soon.
More players do need larger map isn't it?

Not really... 4kmx4km is nowhere *near* saturated with 32v32.... it'll actually be a decent fight with 64x64

No, larger maps need more players.

I really hope they are busy working on this. Cause if there is something I would make PR better since Mumble, its 128.

I would like to see 128p become a part of the mod.
It is a lot of fun and there's some good T/W to be found.
Reinforce this with the new mumble and things get crazy

.
Player count is good for making sure all the assets are in use and on the larger maps it is good so that not everyone is in vehicles and that APCs can actually play their intended function.
No need for more assets on many maps, just the correct use of each asset.
I'm interested in playing Project Normandy sometime too and that with 128p would be pretty intense.

Dunno. I am level 0 admin at SISU (since early startup) and still haven't heard anything from them for a month or so. Anyroad, i'm not complaining in any way, full credits to them for the work and code \o/
Wicca wrote:And is it related to noone donating to them?
Nope. SISU has not been running PR because lack of donations. Last time it was up was a month ago when rented to run PR :/
Moreover, please understand that this thread is not about opinions about 128 PR but instead is there 128 testing or not and how will it be organized.
Still waiting for some kind of reply or statement from PR team.

What is the actual cost of renting this 128 man server? Can it really be that much higher than a 64 man? Everyone talks about it like it's some kind of monumental investment but I have yet to see solid figures.

agree, except:

I dont like the server since they force you to pay if u want to play.
Other servers would and can host them for free.

I had a talk with tema some time ago and yes, 128 is still in progress

for more - i dont know if i am allowed to tell this in a public thread.

AFAIK, Soppa is paying for the server from his own pocket alone, and it's not cheap. Hundreds of euros every month (i've heard this figure of ~500?/month somewhere)
So it's really unreasonable to assume that Soppa (alone) would pay for all this just so others could play.

I see, if you had no money left to run the server, the money just would appear to you, especially when everyone's just enjoying there server and noone donating
It used to be play4free but then it ran out of money, so you should stop blaming it /rant

Well, I guess thats why clans/communities usually run servers instead of single persons, you cant blame public players for not donating because im pretty sure its the same situation for any other server, and I know the 128 server have a extra cost but public players paying the money for the server its unlikely to happen.

I mean 2km maps are not for 64vs64, 4km is good for 128 players.
Would those old classic 2km maps will gone with the coming 128 server?????

2km maps work great with 64v64, hell, even some 1km maps like Fallujah work great with 64v64.
