Thanks for the feedback 22cal. I'm glad you like it.
For the release version I may add another layer where the flags are all neutral at the start, but to me that seems like a better choice for civilian areas/flags or maps located in non-military locations. This map, on the other hand, takes place in a jungle controlled by PLA forces and there would certainly be soldiers already at a POW camp, right? So what I've tried to simulate is the US attacking (thus why it's called the Tad Sae
Offensive) a PLA controlled area. For the northern AAS route, the POW Work Camp happens to be empty because it's night time, but then they have to physically invade the other locations, where there are already PLA troops. For the southern AAS route, the cave is a storage location for PLA ammunition, but the city is civilian and thus neutral. The other aspect of the set-up is that the US doesn't bleed tickets if the first flag is lost. After all, why would they? They are attacking territory they didn't control to begin with. However, if the US manages to push the PLA out of their territory and get "Ridgeline", the PLA bleeds heavily.
As for the moonlit environment, this is something I played with a lot... but I am more than happy to hear feedback specifically on this. To make sure we're all on the same page though,
this is not a true night map. At this time we're not able to produce night maps due to some issues with night-vision goggles (NVGs), so I had to ensure there was enough ambient light to see. But it's a balance. In my opinion, any darker would make it frustrating but maybe I'll open a poll to see if that's what people want.
Thanks again... and others: please feel free to add comments here.
EDIT: Here's the poll
