Hey guys, today i was playin some insurgency on al basrah with the insurgent arty ied kit. I took an ammo techi and started to setup a big ambush of 5 artys. After i done planting i fall back to the safe distance and i started to wait. Server was only filling up so there wasnt much traffic at all. About an hour later it was full, the real game started. APC was on the way to my ieds but then something strange happened. 5 of my ieds started to explode one by one, i didnt eaven touch the detonation phone. Are the ieds limited by time or any other way, cuz during the game i never dropped the kit or died and there was noone messing around ieds.

i do believe all player placed objects decay over time as to prevent players from dropping things in obscure areas and then are left there taking up network data and not being used. this applies as per the bf2 engine. not sure if it is an editable trait.

I would also be interested to know.. Any devs able to comment?

Land mines stay only 20mins after your death, i'm not sure what the maximum is (sort of related).
