How come there are no maps that feature only attack aircraft? I think it'd be nice if instead of the fighter and attack v fighter and attack or 2 fighters v 2 fighters, it'd be nice to have a map with attack v attack. E.G. Kashan-style map with only A-10 and SU-25.

That's how Muttrah for example came about, back in v0.2 I saw there was really no map for the littlebird in PR (at the time, PR's only custom vehicle) and as such, took it upon myself to make a map mainly for the LB, which ending up being Muttrah v1

And ended up removing the LBs

Yeah I played muttrah only for the LBs

Doing transports on the buildings tops was easy, that was so fun to land on T buildings and extract a squad in no time

Ye well while LBs on Muttrah was awesome (mainly muttrah v1), when Muttrah got bigger in v2, it had outgrown them quite a bit with them taking ages to get to shore, the Hueys had got to the docks and back to the carrier by the time the LBs had landed and the USMC shouldn't have ever been using them in the first place

But the main aim I always had for the map is still there, just with different helicopters than what I had originally planned + a lot more

Yeah that's true that the LBs were quite slow

I believe there are only attack jets on Iron Eagle. At least the IDF only have F16's.

He's talking about the other jets. A10s, Frogfoots etc.

OP is wrong too. why would you only want a pair of attack birds? They would spend the guts of two hours playing ro-sham-bo.

My idea is better however. Make a layer of every 4k map and stick one gunship onto one side with no AAA support and force the infantry to take it down by other means. now thats right.

I cant tell if youre being serious with this part. The su-25 outruns the a10 by a wide margin, and the a10 has such a smaller turning radius in comparison to the su-25. With only 2 aim-9s, the air-air fights between the two craft would be unsuccessful too often. Theyd both end up just taking ground targets all day and maybe take a potshot with a heat seeker every once in a while.

When I see the SU-25, I usually just pop it a couple times with my main gun and resume CAS runs. Yes, the sidewinders are essentially useless unless you stay on their tail long enough for them to use all there flares.
