New maps monopoly.

Hmm, I came on PR tonight to play for the first time in a few days and every single map was one from the new map pack.

Don't get me wrong, there are very good maps, but there was no chance to play the familiar favourites and the entire night for me was spent getting irritated running around misty woodland getting ambushed, or wishing I'd learnt to play assets at some point to make the large open maps worthwhile.

I'm not whinging about the new maps, just wish that it was possible to play the familiar insurgency ones or have some 'regular' gameplay as well as the n00bish 'learning new maps' gameplay there has been tonight.

Our mixed map server is running a MIX of old and new. The new maps only server is suffering from crashes. We are working on what layer of what map runs well and what causes crashes when loading after the round end.

There is ongoing work in the server admin section to track any issue or wether its bugged maps or just one of those things that happen with PR.

Monopoly would be so awesome! Think about it.

Go to jail = CTD
Go = RTB
Railroads = Vehicle Types

Each color would represent a map, and the properties of that color are the map layers.

Instead of houses and hotels you could build Rally Points and FOBs.

I think properties should not be map layers, but landmark areas on each map, so Muttrah for example wold have MEC fortress, the Mosque and the West City T-Shapes. Barracuda would have the Chinese missile silos, the beach fortifications and the supply fort.

And think of all the Community Chest and Chance cards we could come up with! "**** pilots crash all air assets, go back 20 million spaces." or "Enemy air strike error in your favor, collect 50 tickets from each player".

Points out that the more the map pack maps are played, the more bugs/glitches are theoretically discovered, therefore making the maps better sooner. :)

At the same time certain maplists have been proven more stable than others. I'd rather a stable, fluid gameplay experience as opposed to a mass testing sesh.

On topic- I agree with having a stable rotation rather than all new maps, unless of course it's both :razz:

On topic though... TG is also running a good mix between the map pack and regular maps.

only 3 days passed since the map pack release so it is normal to see the majority of the maps being the new ones. Just let people get kinda bored of them and you will see a normal and balanced rotation on all servers. This is happening each time new maps are out.

BTW... I can't describe how happy I am that maps like Ghost Train and Mestia made their way back to PR .. I hope this means that someday in the future I will see my all times favorite EJOD Desert on the maplist ... :)

On topic: I don't mind playing all new maps, because it is like that with any new release.

Once upon a time, Muttrah v2 was released. Everybody played just that. Sadly, there is some people who still play just that.

Get all maps in the rotation, there is some 100+ variations, and players, stop being fking pussies and dont just play the 3 maps you like. If youre so hardcore to play some quasi army game, suck it up and fight where you were deployed to.
