[Solved] Come back after a year and still getting dreaded memory errors

Been awhile since I played, I even had to buy the game again because I lost my CD KEY but the problems still remain for me. PR crashes at verifying client data and gives me some memory error when I get to desktop. My computer is pretty decent (specs at bottom) and can run Arma with no problems at HIGH settings so why shouldn't I be able to run BF2 PR at high settings as well? I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a fix so I can play PR again.

Specs:
2gb DDr2
GTX 460 1gb Video Card
Quad Core Athlon @ 2.7ghz
Windows 7 32 bit
Steam (problem was there when I didn't have steam)

If you have steam version of BF2 fix is here for it https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... -list.html

Actually people reported that it fixed a lot of other problems beside just servers not showing up on list, so give it a try, and post back.

You do have decent PC indeed but why do you have just 2gb of RAM? I suggest you get at least 2gb more and then you can get this hack to make PR or bf2 work right, or get 64bit system.
Your problem is 32bit Vista and 2gb of ram actually. PR is quite demanding, because it pushes bf2 engine to its limits and one stupid limit that bf2 on 32bit system has, is it cant use more than 2gb of system ram. If it does it will crash. On 64bit systems, this works much better ( PR ) and there is no cap of 2gb in the system.

I am planning on rebuilding my computer soon so i'd rather not spend money on getting some more RAM. And the reason for not having much RAM is because I haven't really ever needed it. Arma, Arma II, Skyrim, ect ect all run fine at maxed (or close to max) settings but I guess PR must really push the engine to it's limits. I have already downloaded the fix to get my servers to show back up and it didn't affect the memory at all.

You can try and delete your Battlefiled 2 folder in My Documents. After that run BF2 ( vanilla ) and retrieve your accounts, edit settings, and join multiplayer game to see how it works, and to optimize shaders. Once done and all is ok, shut it down, and run PR as administrator. And do lower your settings. It just wont work with 2Gb of RAM on 32bt win7. Especially textures.

You could just turn everything to low... I think that fixes the memory errors?

I told him that but he cant understand it. Maps are too big, there is too much things to load, thats why PR uses so much RAM if set to all high. Its not flaw its just how it is. Under 3Gb you will have problems with graphics on medium to high. With 4 it runs perfect, thats why I said you need to upgrade in order to do it. If its too much for you, then its understandable.

Let's clear something up, I perfectly understand the fact that if I lower my graphics the game will work due to the limitations of BF2's engine and the new map sizes/textures/ect. I love PR but I don't see myself playing it if it has to be ran at low settings where the already dated graphics appear even worse.

While Arma II has it's problems it seems to be more stable than BF2 atm so I am gonna play it until I can upgrade. Again, I appreciate all of the answers and support from everyone.
