Canada Sq2...
Lots of walking, but comms and teamwork were pretty good.
Thanks to all squad 2 for their good work, particularly FTL's Tartantyco and Commie.

overall pretty boring game, had its ups and downs
The first 5-10 mins on deployment were exciting then and hour and 10 mins of nothing apart from a stray hellfire from 2000m away.
It livened up a lot more towards the end of the game, the last 30 mins was quite intense but it was all about the armour. infantry could do jack all with the view distance being so high. I think the closest i got to the enemy was about 600-700m away and us infantry men know you cant hit anything at them ranges
All could be solved by one simple thing.
FLAGS
Also, thanks to the organizers of the event i appreciate the time and effort you guys put into stuff like this and of course wicca for making the map and being commander, also curry for being our drunken commander

The map is not really infantry type so it was snipers heaven and even those had trouble. I failed miserably even with marksman kit, so until the last 20 minutes, we havent seen much hits, let alone kills.
All in all atmosphere was very good, had lots of fun and the walking and setting up didnt bother me because even though enemies were there, you could evade in case they fired. So no ragefest.
Next time, on some normal map... like Vadso.

Squad 1 of PRTA (lead by 700k who was also the platoon leader of infantry), got into CQB twice and overall we had an impressive KDr (25:3). Like Smiddey stated, interesting at first, kind of monotomous for the most part (we kept moving as a whole team, performing maneuvers and laughing about a few things so it wasn't a total bore) and intense in the last 30 minutes.
The same kind of event with flags would be more fun in my opinion. It would prevent one entire team camping at the extreme corner of the map and the other looking for a fight by exploring much terrain as possible (although slowly and organized).
I don't think the unbalance of HATs were the decisive factor for PRTA's win, but nevertheless it would be wise in the future to provide equal ground on everything to avoid potential conflicts at the end.
Great event guys, I hope this can be a regular thing. Have all a nice year!
Kudos to 700k and all the guys in my squad, you guys were brilliant.

The HAT definitely made a difference. once our TOWs went down, there was absolutely nothing that could stop your tank which is why it got so far into our defenses purely because there was nothing to stop it so 2 HAT would have definitely made a big difference
(Thats something you should consider Wicca)

Although I did not participate, I have to say, looking at some videos from the event that it looks almost as tedious and boring as genuine military service. Objectives are really quite necessary: maybe even some sort of central objective, like a central town (doesn't have to be massive, maybe just a facility or factory or something).
As for the tandem and hat unbalance: maybe Russians could have been given more ammo or something, or more hat kits. RPG7s are dirt cheap after all compared to milan and stuff.

agree, the bigger view distance really fucks over the infantry gameplay, and in this case devs really did a good job not implementing this in the normal maps. The mod has reached its realism peak. Any further would hurt gameplay way to much. Now the focus needs to be on new content and fun stuff for people to do, last thing we want is people to be reminded of the dull military service.
For vehicle warfare, the view distance could be boosted to this level. But not for infantry play.

The thing is in range...try being accurate with an RPG at higher than 1km ranges.
