My friends can't seem to "bf2 linked" on the new beta mumble 1.0?

They have windows 7 and are running as administrator and accepted the certificate during installation.

i have met about 20 people who are having this issue

I noticed it's the auto-connect system that doesn't work.

Yes, I have the same issue. Mumble 1.0 is working fine on my gaming laptop, links everytime and it is super!

BUT! On my laptop, and my friends gaming pc, Mumble 1.0 will not link with BF what so ever. Super annoying. And it seems there is a little group of ppl that are unlinked in the mumble lobby so more ppl have the same problem..

I run mumble and pr as admin. PB is updated.

Anyone got any help or tips to how to get it to link?

Ok its a conflict with another programme or the firewall.

FYI, I found out what my problem was. It was that i deleted the movies from Battlefield 2\mods\pr\movies\.

If the file "menubg.bik" is not in that folder, Mumble will not link. I hope this helps someone. :)

If you need the file, here it is: http://nesthus.net/menubg.bik

Rather than deleting files, if you don't want movies to play then add " + restart" to the end of the Target field on your shortcut.

So it should look something like this:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart

Yes mate, good tip. But you know, people wont come here and read this, they will just remove the movies, because I think alot of people did this with BF2 with the horrible EA movies, and they will then do the same with PR thinking it wont do any damage. Thats why I think this should be informed in the mumble guides, and maybe in Mumble itself.

Just a thought...any of you people that cant get linked have Steam version of BF2? OR you all removed bik intro movies?

Last night I had an epic crash that forced me to re-install Windows7(32bit). Then I re-installed BF2 (no steam version). And PR(pure with map pack) with Pr_mumblev1.0, auto-connect worked until Seven updated itself. Since earlier, auto connect does not work. I hope this info will help. I tried to re-install both but any change.

Works perfectly with 7-64bit, no "Verifying data client" bug as well.

Restoring background menu video fixed it.
