[0973] Jets with afterburner HUD bug

Description:
In afterburner jet, confirmed to work with MIG and F16 on kashan, press freelook+afterburner+accelerate at the same time and look around. You should see hud in front of you no matter where you watch. Its also functional since you can see locking icons n stuff on it.
Steps to Reproduce:
Get into F16/MIG on kashan, press freelook+accelerate+afterburner and look around

AFAIK, you can also do this in BF2. Not much the devs can do about this.

Actually, there is: shutting down mouselook. However, that would ruin the days of people using TrackIR.

This isn't a big deal. Turns out the short range AA missiles actually have a huge lock-on cone (45 degrees above and below the nose!) but the missiles won't track if the target's too far displaced from the missile's forward heading on launch. This is more to increase the effectiveness of flares in foiling target acquisition. Is not a sufficient advantage to be considered an exploit.

Also bears mentioning that many fighter jets nowadays feature helmet-synced targeting systems, where the pilot can turn their head and the missile's seeker will point in the same direction.

Thanks for reporting, though. I'll play around with this and see if it calls for action. I don't expect it will.

you are if they are inside the 45 degree cone from the nose of the aircraft
