[Solved] BSOD sometimes on load (probable cause is x-fi)

This is a problem that I have ever since I play project reality. I run the game on a desktop pc with 7 x64 that exceeds the minimum requirements, with no cooling problems and has never seen a blue screen in another situation besides this one.

After loading some levels, generally 3 or 4 the blue screen shows up while loading the next level. Then, it starts over. I can load more 3 or 4 levels before the computer crashes to the blue screen.

I never had the oportunity to read what says on the blue screen because it is really fast and somewhat unpredictable.

I have a creative x-fi soundcard with X-ram, a feature for gaming that is actually supported on battlefield 2. I don't know anyone else with these bsod problems as I don't know anyone else with a soundcard like this. I've seen this problem reported in a post with maybe 2-3 or even 4 years, but from what I read it fell into oblivion.

For control sample I have my laptop where I've never seen a blue screen in 3 months of gaming.

Is there any solution for this (besides removing the soundcard)?

Well first you should isolate what the possible problems could be..

Could you use your onboard sound for a few days (take out your Xfi card) to test if you still bluescreen without the sound card?

If you still bluescreen with the onboard sound, I would run memtest on your ram because after 3-4 rounds, it could be loading your memory up to a point of a bad sector, at which point it'll bluescreen as the memory is now corrupt.

Its most probably your X-Fi soundcard.
