Joystick lookaround?

Hey, I've been wondering this issue for a while now. Is it possible the bind this button

to be used to look around in jets? For now I either have to reach to my mouse and press ctrl+and move it, or either switch the view from weapons

Is this somehow doable or is it a BF2 restriction? Would help alot in flying and tracking enemy jets. The only thing I can think of is somekind of a program (didn't find any on google) or binding the button as mouse somehow so I can press ctrl+ and move the button

was about to ask the same thing myself, flying with a joystick and pressing left Ctrl and looking around with the mouse isn't the best idea when flying a chopper

You could try to bind the "Weapon 7,8,9" keys to corresponding HAT direction.
For me that looks as follows:
Go to "Controls" -> "Aircraft",

HAT left -> "Weapon 7"
HAT up -> "Weapon 9",
HAT right -> "Weapon 8",
HAT down -> "Weapon 1" (so you can get to normal view by pressing HAT down)

Works for me at least.

Might try that and see how it works, I was aiming for a free lookaround like the one with ctrl+mouse though

Joy to key and bf2freelook will both work.

With joy to key you will still have to press the mouselook button and cant control your air asset anymore.
With Bf2freelook you can look around without mouselook and keep steering your asset.

as said above ... *** BF2FreeLook ** is a developed program for such a need .... you can key bind your joystick to the view locations and if you download the Tracknoir you can simply use your built in computer web camera to work as a face tracking system... so you wont even need the bottons on your joystick just move your head around and your Pilots face will look around .... its GREAT :) .... just takes some fanageling to work 100%
