[?] vehicles being able to carry +8

Hey there
I have no idea if this has been suggested before. I don't recall seeing any suggestion like this so here we go.
After reading
this post where someone made an amusing comment about being able to deploy these "vehicle guns" on another vehicle, I thought to myself if this has been tried to make room for more than 8 people in a vehicle.
Is it not possible to attach a "vehicle" to another vehicle, thus making it possible to fix an extra person to the "main vehicle"??

Well this isnt the BF2 suggestions forum for a start but, yes more than 8 people vehicles are possible.

Yeah I know. This is more a thread to discuss the coding/possibilities

The way thous guns work afaik is that if you do "deploy" one on a vehicle, as soon as the vehicle moves off it will be left floating in mid air
No its not possible to add a vehicle to a vehicle, it just ends up becoming another seat of a vehicle, which there are a max of 8.
There are a few ideas floating around on how this could be done, 90% of them python driven but as a result, none that are really realistic.

I see. I have no idea how things are working but I was wondering if there was a way to use the C4 "sticky code" to prevent this... Well nevermind, as said I have no idea how the coding works and I guess you have a "Dev's Secret Lair Workshop" for these kind of things

For locked vehicles where the passengers can't see out any windows, you could try this:
(mspaint image to make post aesthetically pleasing)
For each vehicle (let's say an apc), there is a separate vehicle floating really high up in the air, so it can't be seen by planes, choppers etc. The entry/exit point of this vehicle is set to be at the back of the apc through a timer in python.
Tadaa, you can now have 2 crewmen and 8 passengers.
(This would pretty much screw up positional audio and have a lot of other bugs too)

And how would they die if the human earth apc dies...lol
Nice that your trying but...yea. xD

Interesting idea, I haven't heard of the C4 sticky code being used to do this, it could possibly work, but hard to say. It still most likely would need to be somewhat python driven to at least start it off however but that could be made pretty reliable, I dunno about the rest.

Where to put the players is the least of our problems
There is no reason why you wouldn't put the interior inside the vehicle, like we do now although if you wanted to go down the offset route, which we have in the past, you put the players underground rather than in the sky.

Funny, I thought the exact same after reading that post
And yeah, using that mysterious "C4-sticky code" to attach an "invisible" vehicle at the right spot on another vehicle would be awesome - just imagine a "placeholder"-vehicle (it is actually holding places for people to sit in

) that gives us the extra seats in the chinook!
Not sure though why you think this would only work in closed vehicles!?!
*Prepare for Uber-paint-skillz*

Too bad I have not much idea about the coding itself but I wish and hope someone is doing something along these lines at some point!
Oh and btw:
IF this works I want towable cannons and trailers that I can move around with a truck and such!
The truck gets a trailer coupling with the "C4-code". When selecting the "weapon" to attach a trailer it gets activated (as in deploy sth. that is sticky and connects to the truck and trailer) and when you press RMB it "blows up" (as in remove the sticky object to park the trailer).
As for the movement of vehicle and trailer in curves: when the driver hits left or right, the coupling has to move in the opposite direction to let the trailer follow. Too bad I just relaize that this wont help the two going hills up and down...than it would look like 1 long thing...but people can dream can't they!?

Not sure if people get this and if it makes any sense...I am just excited that after so many years, people still find new ways of doing this and that! Just awesome...

traliers, even with sticky code, are not possible. If they where we would have made the Viking/Warthog by now

Sorry, I didn't want to derail this with the trailer idea...just a quick side note in my brain! Forget about it - even though...this vehicle would be... *speechless*

ANYWAY:
Rhino, any comments/thoughts about the main train of thought?

Question (and bare with me, I have no idea what I'm doing

)
Is it possible to make a C4 enterable? How do I make an entry point for example? Can it be done in the Editor or do I need to to add it in the tweak file?
Can't seem to add "PlayerControlledObject" template
Edit: If you can... Point me to a good tutorial about this stuff

Okay so I've looked into things and I realized that my question above really doesn't make any sense.. But can someone explain me how that "deplayable" hmg was coded??
Can I make this happen by only editing the tweak file for the gun??
