the truth about the H server ban

Oh...no public discussion of the travesty that has just occurred? You want your unjust decision to just disappear so no one noticed how unjust and absurd it really is? On to the truth, read fast before they delete the thread...

First, thank you for your words stealth. I agree our server was the best USA server for years and now, because the DEVs have a personal vendetta against our clan, the server is down and may never exist again.

I do not know where the AncientMan got his information that contributed to his server ban statement and I challenge him to even note where he got his information from. Of course he will never specify his sources credibly, because it would be impossible due to the fact that some of what he put in his server ban statement is falsified information, hearsay, and personal extrapolation on some of the facts.

Obviously as a clan we want to keep our server and we have chastised our members for asking for donations to be unbanned and this would have never happened again if our server had not been banned.

This whole process of asking us for an investigation and an apology letter was just a ruse and from the jump the plan was to revoke our server license. You could liken this to NATO asking Saddam Hussein for total disclosure of his WMD endeavors. Well, OBVIOUSLY he did not have any and it was just a big smoke screen for cause to invade Iraq. This same charade has played out right here before your very eyes and has led to the revocation of our server license.
When we received the results of their investigation, we discovered that the person who started the payment-for-ban-reversal process had just been promoted as the new head server administrator, and that the server was back up and running. The results also did not seem to deal with the issue at all, rather the =]H[= server admins were trying to justify their actions as being legitimate - PR Management views this as completely inappropriate.
I really don't know what to say to this quote from the server ban post. it is so ridiculous and means absolutely nothing. This quote has nothing to do with whether or not we would continue to charge for unbans and therefore has no bearing on the issue at hand. it is meaningless text thrown in to incite an emotional response and gather popular support behind the baseless personal decision by the devs to strike down our clan who has never been liked because we were also more popular than TG, THIS IS THE TRUTH
We further note that requesting payment to be unbanned with the implied threat that if they don't do this, they will stay banned (possibly permanently), is by definition extortion. In the United States where the server is situated, this is a federal crime.
notice how "the facts" section is worded but focus on the above quote especially. basically the devs are stating that paying for unbans is not illegal and does not break any rules IF there are other standard options. The following would be completely legal:

Hypothetically, if someone is banned and proof is shown of server rules being broken and proper procedure being followed and they are given standard options for whatever offense they committed such as,

Option 1: Ban will automatically lift in 3 weeks
Option 2: Write a 500 word explanation of what happened and why it won't happen again and ban will be lifted immediately
Option 3: Pay $5 and ban will be lifted immediately. This $5 goes directly to funding server expenses, WE DO NOT PROFIT, and to show you value the server and won't make anymore mistakes because they may be too costly.

Is this still wrong? How is this different from speeding and getting a fine? you have an option to sit in jail to pay off the fine or you can pay cash or go to court ( 500 word explanation)

How is this different than giving players an option of playing the server for free or paying some money to get extra privileges (TG supporting members).

ANSWER: there is no difference and it is completely LEGAL

In Summary, this whole episode of devs investigating, and us doing our own investigation, was for no reason at all. From the start it was decided that we would have our license revoked.

We admitted we had asked for money to be unbanned and we would stop doing it. And these cases were isolated if you consider how many bans we have on our server. We have had thousands of bans on our server and asked for money maybe 2-3 times.

We were investigated because we asked for money for unban. We then stated it was not a policy and was an isolated incident. After the investigation into what we had admitted, and the devs already knew, we were banned for doing it. Obviously, the investigation was a sham and smoke screen to give the illusion of due process.

Personal vendettas have hurt the PR community not just the Hardcore clan
