Hey guys, i got some weird problem..


So, for some reason my project reality started to lag like crazy, it's just unplayable. I didn't have this problem before.

I tried to clean my pc, update every driver, defrag hard disk, scan for viruses, reinstall windows, but nothing helped :C

I was playing pr on high settings without any lag, but now it's just unplayable even on low settings!


BF2 2012-01-14 21-23-29-58.avi - YouTube <- Here's a little example. I'm using medium settings in this video, and it's hard to see how my game is lagging, because you need to control the mouse to feel it! Basicly whenever i look around my game starts to crazy :C

lag is ussually caused by an internet connection

what is your connection speed and maybe it lags because someone is downloading something while you play it?

Um, it's not the problem with my internet, i'm sure..


My latency is always around 50-70

but do you download anything while you play? or does anyone stream or download anything?

No, i'm not downloading anything.

try turning dynamic shadows off and anti alliasing see if that helps?

also decrease the view distance

it could be punkbuster trying to update itself in the game too

so try updating punkbuster before launching the game

does it lag when you play online or does it also lag offline?

also I heard bf 2 causes memory leaks with some cards

so that could be it

also how much ram do you have?

What OS? 32 or 64 bit?
Any other online games lagging?
Are you running Vent or Xfire or steam overlay?
Have you installed any hacks?
How long has the current BF2 and PR been installed?
Have you tried to reset and/or hard reset your router and/or modem?
Which antivirus and firewall you using? Have you changed it or has there been any updates? Is your AV and firewall disabled while playing?

Start up PR and join a server, then alt-tab out and check programs manager, see if you have a memory leak...


If you have problems with other games...
Have you run speedtests to see if you have been capped by your ISP?
Check your hardware, GPU, RAM etc seated properly.
(Option) D/L new vid card drivers, Uninstall COMPLETELY your video card drivers, reboot, install new drives.

I just checked World of Warcraft, and it lags too!
No, i'm not using any overlay
lol, no, i didn't install any kind of hacks
The current bf2/pr is installed for about 3days
yes, i tryed to restart modem and router
I'm using avira antivirus , i tryed disabling it, still lags. Same with firewall



When i'm in game my PR uses ~1.500.000 memory! It's not right, because my friend plays pr too, and he says that his pr uses ~200.000 memory :C


Actually, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim lags too


I have 4gb of rams.

Well, i formated everything and reinstalled my windows 1 week ago.


when my pc is idle it has around 40*c and when i'm playing pr it has ~60*c


My pc is 2 years old

my video card is Nvidia GTS 250 512mb


I bought this computer from the shop.


And no, i didn't download or install anything important.

how much RAM do you have I can only see your cpu and gpu

seems to me like a hardware problem

run memtest if the psu thing doesnt work out
