Hi guys ,im new in Battlefield 2 PR.I have mic ,mumble etc. but im just 13 years old.Well i love teamwork and i can speak english pretty good so i want to ask you if it is ok.Thanks and happy hunting

Already I can tell that you're not the regular 10-year-old CoD kid that runs around for the kills. Most squad leaders in-game won't care about age, just competency and teamwork so I think you're good Oh, and make sure that you have Mumble 1.0 and not Mumble 0.5.

What this guy said, join his squad ingame sometimes, he's great guy and a good SL

You seem to be a cooperative lad, so you'll do fine. Just don't talk mindlessly about anything if you have a thin voice - only state the enough throughout the round.

Since you took the time to introduce yourself, you're already leaving a good first impression. There's a few young players here, although as you probably guessed, the majority is older than you and some might be a bit impatient with you, but don't let that stop you. As long as you are able and willing to work with the team, you'll be accepted as a squad member! Make sure you have read and understood the manual; if you have any further questions, feel free to ask us or to ask your squad leader in-game; it's always better to ask a question than to do nothing.

Remember that this game is rather slow paced compared to most shooters, so keep the finger off the trigger and wait for orders before engaging enemies. Don't jump right into heavy vehicles or aircraft without order, try to join regular infantry squads at first.

You already said that you have a mic and mumble, which is perfect - all you need now is to be willing to learn and show some patience in game, which I suppose you will, otherwise you'd not have made this thread

If some squad leader fails to lead you well, don't be afraid to change the squad or server, you don't have to bother with someone not wanting you to learn.

Thank you Yeah ,i know this is slow gameplay that's why i like it.I reading the manual right now ,it's pretty usefful.See ya on servers .

Welcome to PR, good to have you with us. Here's some advice from a recent newbie.

First of all, don't worry about your age...even if some might make assumptions upon hearing you, it's pretty easy to tell who's a teamplayer and who's not, so if you communicate well there shouldn't be any problems.

Great that you're reading the manual, it contains most of the necessary knowledge. That alone should give you a good start.

I recommend training in co-op to get used to the basic gameplay and learn the kits and maps, though keep in mind that there are several major and minor differences in gameplay between it and AAS/Insurgency(the most common online modes), and the tactics you use against bots are completely different than the ones you want to use against human, so don't get too used to it.

Watching online videos of PR gameplay can also be useful, you'll pick up tactics and gameplay details that might not be in the manual or obvious in the game.

In your first few matches, be a standard rifleman whenever possible, though I'd recommend also getting familiar with the Medic, Specialist, and AR class in case you're asked to use them by your SL.

PR Mumble 1.0 and the 0.97 Map pack are almost necessary downloads. Less important is the 0.95 SP map pack, though it's recommended if you intend to play co-op for anything more than initial training.

Also - don't worry about being the best in your squad. Try hard to be a part of it, but don't worry too much about being really good.

Just say to the Squad Leader that you are new and he should take that into account and make it fun for you.

When I squad lead I know there are new guys and people who have been playing for years all mixed up in it, and it's not a problem if somebody is still learning and hasn't 'got the hang' of shooting yet.

Just take it easy and watch how everyone else does it. And try not to be the first to fire at the enemy (you'll see why, people are quite hard to kill in PR, it's important that the machine gun fires first).

But when you do shoot, shoot a lot

I love the Intense feel of this.I hated BF:BC2 becouse of bunny hoping at Clan Matches ,it's just ruined the feeling of it.But in this one are smart players who like the Intense feel too and that is just awesome

Sometimes it gets so intense, everyone starts screaming. Thats when you need to remember that it is just a game. Also, times when you will be mad or angry once you understand how a team should function, and seeing how team is working.

Alot of life and time will be taken from you, but a good feeling will be given back.

Best advice is to really work on your situational awareness. Its primary in your skill set since it allows you to be of most utility to your squad. Being aware enables you to effectively exercise all of your other skills. Most common thing I see in new players is an inability to see things that everyone else picks out at a word.

"See that guy at 050, on the roof about 300m away?"

If you can say 'yes' without even using your scope then you're on the right road.

Best tip to achieving good SA is to check your caps lock map frequently so that you don't lose track of friendly positions, really helps keep you from killing friendlies.

Also add every good player you can find on Xfire. Playing with others who are better than you is the fastest way to gain skills, and its also the only way most people play PR who've been here for more than a week.

Welcome to the club, I suspect you'll outshine many annoying guys who are much older than you. Pr has shown me how little age has to do with maturity.
