I was wondering if the DEV team was able to give pretty much any guns and equipement to the MEC faction.

Being a non-real faction, the DEV team can give pretty much any guns to the MEC without being unrealistic no? Or is the fact that they have G3s trying to get them closer to the Pakistani army?

I think it's great to have a "non-real" faction like the MEC, this way the DEV team can have a faction with special features.

Also I would like a mod to make this post a poll with those options :

Would you like to see the MEC being given new weapons?

1. Yes
2. No

I don't want to make this a suggestion, but how I would like to see SIG guns for a change

Personally, I am pretty happy with the MEC faction.

IMO, the G3 is epic.

And they are getting the new BMPs in the next update.

Everything we give the MEC takes a lot of thought and is based on mostly common ME countries kit that would possibly be part of the "MEC", if it ever existed.

I don't get it.. MEC is as awesome as any other faction in PR! And G3 surely isn't inferior to other assault rifles, quite the contrary in my opinion.

Giving a few Kalashnikovs to MEC wouldn't be a bad thing though..

But considering the MEC is fictional faction, wodent different branched be plausibly, considering they have there own version of the USMC.

And they in turn could use different weapons, but considering this would be low priority?

Well if MEC is a coalition of Middle Eastern countries, could they afford to have very high grade equipment or not, wit all teh oilz they havz?

Man that is quite an interesting idea. A lot of work though, but just imagine. There could be different and unusual camo, vehicles, weapons - It's Limitless!

But yeah, probably something you wouldn't see for a while.

Well using "Marines" as an example, tbh its not really common for different branches of a countries armed forces to use different weapons. The US is really the exception, although tbh there weapons are not so different between there branches, they are still AR-15s.

For example, the Royal Marines (UK Marines) use for the most part the same kit as the British Army, same rifles (L85A2), pretty much all there personal kit is the same other than the Commando Dagger which is mainly kept for traditional purposes more than anything else, and they still use the SA80 Bayonet. The only slight different bits in kit is the boats they use and Viking/Warthog APC which is amphibious.

Same goes for the Chinese Marines (PLANM), they use the same basic kit, QBZ series of assault rifles, although they again have different APCs which are amphibious and a selection of boats too.

Can also use many other examples if you like


If we where going to make the MEC more realistic, it certainly wouldn't be with making different "branches", but instead to split it up into sub countries but that's a lot of work and has slight political issues with it

Personnaly I think the MEC could use more guns that G3 and MP5. Heck even their marksman is a G3 lol. I think SIG guns would be cool and it's still in the same genre than the G3.

Well they had AKs back in vBF2, so I don't think that would be really nice to see AKs again for the MEC

Well, I like to think of the MEC as a "Axis" version of the German Army.(G36 for literally everything except MP7/Sniper Rifle/Marksman)

The MEC forces imo should have two ver's
one is the current more high tech military force, and another should be a less high tech one like a para military force. Although also I think this would be a lot of work for little gain :/

IMO it would be cool to split the MEC in too one faction with more western equipment (for example Saudi Arabia) and an faction with more Russian equipment which is more or less what the MEC is now.

This way you could make maps with MEC 1 fighting MEC 2. Our NATO fighting an opponent with more or less the same equipment.

It does give the team more latitude than with other factions, but as Rhino said, any additions are considered thoroughly for realism.

Don't you guys ever get sick of AKs? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like AKs, it's just that by now, they show up literally every third map at minimum. Heck, some maps only feature AK-using factions. I think it's a whole 5 factions that feature the weapon right now...

I think MEC needs a special AK, an AK-47 with a scope instead of the usual scoped AK-74. Always wondered what a scoped AK-47 would be like in PR.

well, like the MEC factio nhas it stands it has pretty much the same weaponery of my countrys army. I woudl ahte to see AK-47s i nthe mix, would give those guys the terroristic trade mark ( screaming Allaaaaaha + kalachnikovs....), no thank you.
