In my infinite wisdom i put this in the wrong section, can somone move it while i bury my head in the sand?

Afternoon all :)

I've been strugling with an issue for a while to do with making my dock statics... work.

The issue i have is getting the terrain to be square to the edge of the static without having it sticking out the bottom, bellow are some screenshots of my problem as trying to illustrate it with words would take me a few million hours.

Heres what happens when theyre square at the top

underneath looks like this

and when i get the underneath to look like this

the top looks like this!

I need help, im close to throwing my toys out of the pram and scrapping this all together, any sugestions would be absolutely fantastic.

One issue, i dont have access to photoshop... atall, so any external modification of the heightmap is near impossible.

Thankyou in advance for any advice :)

try doubling the static? Thats the only thing I can think of because photoshop will still give you an edge that will most likely cause that

Statics like that work best aligned with the grid. If that's not possible, then you have to make some sacrifices underneath (as the top has to be flush with the walkway). As sylent said, you can add a sidewalk or a flat terrain static, but that doesn't always look great. But I wouldn't worry too much about the underneath part. Won't it be covered by water anyway?

Half of its covered by water but then you get random juts of terrain coming up above the water line, it just looks horrible, ill try adding a sidewalk static as im spending too much time trying to get this right. Thanks
