Sorry if its not entirely PR related but, the installer program for BF2 does not work. It just keeps crashing a split second after it comes up. So I just deleted my BF2 folder and I cant install BF2 anymore. What the hell causes this installer program to not work? Im stumped. Also, the uninstaller didnt work either. So the exe programs for BF2 dont work, but the exe program for PR .32 full did.

woah.
thats bad, I will suggest one thing before a reformat, unless anyone else has anything.
Goto
start>run
type "msconfig"
select "Diagnostic startup-load basic services and drivers only"
apply, etc restart computer
It only loads the very basic things, you internet will prob not work, but it frees up a shiteload of memory and i have got apps to run like this that dont normally.
worth a try, once bf2 is installed restart computer with "normal startup" and you should be back to normal with bf2.
like I say it wont definatley work but its a fair start.
goodluck

Ok well while I was doing your diagnostic thing I decided to try a system restore, and yay, Im able to install BF2 again. I have to download all the files again, but I think the CTD problem might be solved. Wont know for a while since downloading all these patches takes forever lol.

I will add that this is an issue that I read about a LOT in the EA forums. A lot of people experienced this sort of problem when re-installing BF2, etc..

I think the problem was that you just clicked on your BF2 folder and pressed "SHIFT + DEL". You have to make sure you go to "Add/Remove Programs" and remove Battlefield 2, then you can re-install, or this kind of stuff will happen.

Yea it wouldnt let me remove the program in add/remove programs cause it used that same installshield program that kept crashing. Anyways,
ITS FIXED!!
