Hi all,

I really need help here from everyone and anyone who has had or heard of this problem in the past!!! :cussing:

In the BF2 Editor when I want to "activate physics" in the object editor (so i can walk around and test weapon animations) The editor either crashes or it doesnt do anything.

A possible other symthom of this is when i export animations to the game the rifle floats off to the right and doesnt do what I animated the BAFs to do, however the hands seem to work fine.

I figured i must have made a problem stripping the geometries from the original objects so i tried stripping again and it still didnt fix anything.

I tried uninstalling the editor and reinstalling the most up to date version.
I uninstalled BF2 and PR and any other mods that were there and reinstalled, didnt fix anything.
I tried using the editor to show me other weapons but it was unresponsive.
I tried loading all the objects in the mod setup section, still nothing.

Im running out of Ideas, and I asked a bunch of DEVs already and none of them heard of this happening to others.

Finally: my specs. Windows 7 64x, directx 11, Q9550 4core, P5q3 delux MB, 10gigz ram, all drivers up to date. max 9 and max 2012, BF2 plugin for max9 is working and confirmed, the editor is a feckin nightmare.

Edit: also it would seem the BF2 editor forums is kind of dead

Can you load up the editor, load up a weapon, enable physics etc and then paste the entire log here?

Also what excatly happens when you try loading another handled weapon or vehicle and doing the same sort of thing?

Also have you tried sending your models to someone else to try in there editor?

Not that many people modding BF2 these days either than us and the FH2 guys and the FH2 guys don't use it much, nor do any of us really anymore :p

no. just crashes, doesnt allow me to interact with the program when the error message comes up. I have a dump long, but its illegible.

Same thing, editor just crashes.
Also have you tried sending your models to someone else to try in there editor?
No, i figured i was pissing too many people off with my moaning, and tried fixing it on my own. which isnt working.

going to try the "new more stable editor" now. im hoping your rar file with the little changes works with the new stable editor.

thanks for trying to help me btw.

Most likley something down to your system.

Have you tried fully uninstalling BF2, not just the editor but the game, + any mods and reinstalling them? That might help.

If not, your only real option is formatting your system that I can really think of.

Do what I do and buy a new HDD which you then put in as the new Pri drive, install your OS on it and keep your other one as a backup, with naturally cleaning off the **** you don't need on it like installed programs etc although can be useful to keep the OS installed on it encase things get screwed up, but ye, can cost a bit to get a new HDD, especially a large one but just throwing the idea out there for ya :D

Other than a format, I really can't suggest anything else without any more leads on the problem but right now, sounds very much like a system problem.

Na, I need to buy a new one as I've almost used up the 3TBs on my PC and need a new backup HDD for another PC on my home network since that's 100% full and I haven't done any network backups for a few weeks as a result... :p

might be the kit you are loading crashes it because of itemindex issues.

Ah ye that's true.

Put the vBF2 US SF kit into your kits folder and that might help.
