AMD VISION Engine Control Center graphic tweaks

Some questions about the 3D-configurations like Anti-aliasing. If I set 4X in the Control Center and in game the Anti-aliasing is 2X, will 2X be override for that game because it's set to 4X in CC?
Games that don't have any graphical settings (older ones), will for example AA still be beneficial in them if I set it in CC?
Another thing, having tweaked a gameprofile *.exe, will that profile be ran when the game starts, even if another game with a different gameprofile which is differently tweaked and set as the current standard profile in CC.

I dont have AMD card, but using common sense here. If you set global to force 4x AA o all applications then its should override any in game setting or even game 3d profile setting.

Games that dont support AA will not use it so answer would be no.

Im not sure about that one. I think master 3d setting will override any application profiles you got set. But if option in game profile is not greyed out and you can change it, then it will use current application profile setting.

Yes, I might need to test it and if I manage to visually see graphical improvements by having tweaked the settings.
I guess a program profile is just that, a profile, and what's set in the 3D-programsettings is what is currently going to be ran.
Yet it puzzles me because it's the game's *.exe file you save the profile under, so that makes me wonder if it changes to those settings when starting the game.

I am an NVidia user so I will not dare to attempt to answer the questions about ATI behavior with AA.

The way this usually works is the program simply wants to know which process it should be looking for. So the tool will permanently scan - "Is there a process that is named xxx.exe".
Then there is a further way to distinguish. For example my G15 Key Profiler seem to be able to not only see that the a certain profiles target .exe is running but it also knows that it is in the foreground.
So your question is valid. Maybe the AMD support would be the right address for that.

I will test it doing a profile for Windows Live Messenger.

Tested and verdict is, if you make a profile for a *.exe there is no need for it to be the current setting in CC.
When you start your *.exe it will automatic execute with the save settings.

This might clarify things concerning AA with ATI in Arma2
