If the dam on Jabal al-Burj map was removed, would it still be Jabal or would it become some other map?

Nah. Jabal = Dam.

It depends. If you make a random map and call it Jabal that doesn't have a dam or doesn't look like jabal then no.

But i guess you're are thinking about implementing jabal 2? so if it's that map i'd say it's still jabal. (but v.2)

What makes Jabal awsome is the Dam, no Dam= No jabal.

I don't really mind, but perhaps add a destroyed dam instead? Or something else that sort of happened to the place. Don't know.......

I think that AfterDune's Idea is awsome and gives some awsome mapping dynamism.

I hate the dam. Flow of combat and polarized sides make for a boring and predictable fight. I'd welcome it's removal.

finish the dam, fill the river with water and have a massive tunnel network underneath the river

In China, Jabal=Dam, We call this map "DAM" more often.


PS:What if MEC trun on that dam when it's full of water?LOL

the damn on jabal is useless. if river gets filled, the jabal city will be the new atlantis and also the water can flew over the western road into the sea.

so, the map jabal without a useless dam is not a real jabal anymore.

Remove the dam and you might as well remove the entire map since its already butchered enough.

If there is a dam, it should make sense geographically.

ok so i know women arent allowed a decent education in MEC controlled jabal and the city is a corrupt goverment resettlerment project,

but the dam is backwards
and the water would just run into the sea due to the terrain

i am in favour of a destroyed dam

leave both sides add some debris tunnels etc

build a huge radio tower near the dam on high ground

Dam is there to stop sea water of flooding the area of Jabal. Canal is exhaust out of sea, so the water flows from sea towards city, not the opposite direction.

If its for some weird reason opposite ( ie. River flowing to sea ) Dam has no purpose.

The problem with the dam is that it is blocking the SEA.

Remove it.

not really ,the strange cloud that covers the sun has gone its one of the most fun maps to play id say it was more fun than muttrah but its just a shame the dam makes absolutely no sense what so ever

it flows into the sea, its backwards, it would flood the city, the water would just go past it into the sea on west road.

the dam is retarded but the map is winning, i think some high points and a debris field , a real big debris field with tunnels and hard to manuver areas like korengal would be an epic win

I would turn the dam into bridge, and maybe add more areas of interest, perhaps a mine entrance in C2, maybe a fishing village at east beach, and other things like that.

I am a shady real estate development corporation who would like to turn your failed backwards dam project into high rise luxury condo project with marina and seaside promenade.
If you lend my $500M of your subjects' tax monies I will build you a private penthouse ensuite and provide you with the prime boat slip in the marina.

It's either there to stop the sea (can't be the river it's supposed to stop if you look at the curve) or it's simply there to provide a source of hydro electric energy, which wouldn't be that odd in a desert country where (green) energy sources are scarce.

Either way I agree with Dtacs. It may be an iconic piece of the map, but the fight always focusses around it and that fight is always very dull because the dam in its nature leaves very little room for tactics. Almost every time it simply ends up in fortifying the hills or camping the rooms inside.

I'd say either remove it or move it to an area that is less important.
