Project Reality and Black Sand Studios

Black Sand Studios is a group of mod teams who have formed a "studio" of sorts to help each other out. The teams share ideas, resources, assets and .. most importantly .. share the goal of creating great mods on the Battlefield series and other mod platforms in the future.

The mod teams participating in the studio include:
- 21st Century Warfare
- Battlefield Korea
- Battlegroup : Frontlines
- Eve of Destruction
- Operation Peacekeeper
- Project Reality
- Rebel Insurgencies
- US Intervention

All the mods in the Studio retain their own distinct game play styles, settings and objectives, but we assist each other to help each mod team further their respective goals and objectives. Ultimately, as a result, the players are the winners because mods in the studio can now deliver more content as a result of pooling our resources.

The v0.4 release of Project Reality marks the first release since the team has been collaborating with the folks at Black Sand Studios. Keep your eye out for more great releases from the Black Sand Studios mod teams in the near future!

So whats this? There's a BF2 modding studio where you help each other but retain the mod objectives? Sounds good to me, look forward to alot of those other mods too

I was hoping for mods to team up.

Does this mean that PR can swap, say, the limited kit system for a bunch of vehicles or statics from other mods?

That's certainly the idea. Mods cooperating can achieve a lot more and a lot quicker than a mod working solely.

Sharing of resources, tips and ideas can only be good for the community of gamers, making sure credit is given were appropriate.

By creating a larger resource deposit of material and artistic/intellectual material that is solidly hosted and well known a launch platform for tomorrows computer and art staff is provided that will become a sort of Myspace for those occupations.

Its a good idea. If one team needs a T-55 and another team already has one, why not share? Will mean faster mod's, better quality and a good way to share ideas and resources.
