Soundmod 0.4 releasedate announcement

Hello guys,
Finally I'm ready to announce my upcoming
soundmod version 0.4!
It will be out next week. So put a note in your calendar on
Friday 11th of May!
I have been working with the latest version before v.0.32 got released and this one has taken me about 4 months to put together.
A lot of love has been put into this project and many hours of work I?ve been taking from my real life and my girl wasn't happy.
I also got a lot of help from the PRTA community and others out there who love sound design. I've had long testing sessions every week, discussions regarding details that I was struggling to achieve with the sounds.
I mainly have to thank K_Rivers who actually was the one who got me to go even further with the sounds for PR. He's been helping me a lot with ideas of what was needed to get changed and added.
The journey won't stop here I can tell ya.
I?m planning to make a visual effects version including more distant shootsounds that I sadly couldn't put into this pack. But that will come in a seperate version.
This is the small changelog of what's to come with this version 0.4:
- All new weapon sounds including shooting sounds, foley, distant shots etc.
- All new and more explosions close and distant.
- New bullet hits and flybys/snaps, ricochets and shells dropping.
- New soldier sounds like death sounds, hurt, damage sounds, footsteps etc.
- New vehicle sounds for both land and air. This is the biggest impact I guess.
A more detailed changelog will get posted when we release it on next Friday.

I've never understood why you changed the M4 and M16 sounds to what it is..it sounds like ****. I always thought the standard sounds for them were outstandingly accurate. Is it just because you wanted to change it or do you really think your sounds are better?
Never understood, are you going for accuracy or "how good they sound" with the small arms?
All of the chopper and explosion sound effects are awesome, but the small arms fire sounds quite unrealistic.
Edit: Not trying to shit on your release, but just some questions I have.

Btw did you create most of these sounds yourself based on real stuff? If so awesome stuff!

Well the rifles are from real life weapons, especially the M16 and M4. Yeah actually I got tired of the old one even if you think that was loads better... Really think the 3rd person shots from m16 and m4 was better aswell? Certainly wont change that one. I just guess it depends on where you're fireing it and how far or close you've listened to it irl. I also believe that your so certain of your thing and have played for so long with the original firesounds. Its normal, I wont blame you, but sure as hell dont agree.

Sound mod is awesome.
But...if I have to mention one thing I do not like; it would be the fact that I have no idea why it just does not work on my PC(what kind of registry setting do I need?) and PKM sounds a little weaker(I know it sounds more correct...but can it be made a little louder?).

Maybe the 3rd person sounds are a lot better, I didn't pay that much attention to the other m4's when I was at the range. From a first person perspective the original m4/m16 sounds are spot on.
I understand the "they got old" thing too, just the only thing about the sound mod in whole that bothers me. Everything else is fucking great, don't get me wrong. Keep up the good work.

of course anders did all the work. We only helped with managing it and testing and promoting. Next time anders his name will be first lol

Sorry to say but the new m4/m16 sounds sound like fire crackers or balloons popping imo apart from that great job on the rest especially the sound inside BH.

Those of you who's complaining 'bout the M4/M16, have you even heard a real life M16? I mean I haven't but I seriously doubt they sound like they do in PR. I think the sound mod is more accurate, and better!
Right now it sounds like a pillow-muffled cough.
Great work Anders, I'd love to see it implemented in PR
EDIT: Also, really good trailer. Enjoyed watching!
