Insurgency needs a quick fix ASAP!

Alright what's the deal? It is the fact that insurgency isn't about fighting to destroy caches anymore, it became more like Treasure hunting for the BLUFOR troops. Now most of the time half the team is just hunting unknowns everytime, avoiding firefights and everything. It sounds great, but this game is still a tactical first person shooter, so why play a game without shooting at all? What we need is a quick fix, because if this keeps going on firefights will become rare since we are more fixated about hunting treasures. I think that the changes dbzao made are in the good direction, but we really need to give this some attention. Because even if we are not spawning at unknowns, we still lose because they only destroy these.

I hope that I made my thoughts clear.

What is your vision about this treasure hunting problem?

Yes, the problem is the blueforce hunting unkowns. It couldnt be the insurgents defending only the known cache, instead of both. 2 Caches spawn for a reason. Did it ever occour to you, that the devs deemed a cache too hard to take, if the whole team is on it?

If you want to discourage the blueforce team from going after the undefended cache, make so it isnt undefended. And servers which kick for spawning on the unkown should maybe reconsider.

Dude if you compare it in reality, why would the BLUFOR attack without any intel? When they attack compounds or locations in real life they do it because they have intel. And if we start splitting up it is even easier since the BLUFOR can just go C4 ***** style because there are 15 holes in the line. By the way it is always the fault of the insurgents, but the insurgents don't have the opportunity to place the caches where they want it, and if they want to spawn it.

The idea behind the unknown is that BLUFOR troops don't know where it can be, so they start focusing on the cache they have intel on.

Insurgents don't have the strength to defend 2 caches against the firepower of the BLUFOR.

I am just done with it, it seems people only choose the side of the BLUFOR.....

taking away the unknown would make the known a meat grinder.

Dbzao ran some tests with one cache only... Was proper stuff.

Quick fix is simple - Make caches spawn when they are known and not when unknown, but the spawnpoint is there as now.

But people don't want to play it for 30 minutes without any firefights. Because it is only a treasure quest for the BLUFOR.

Until it has been fixed it should be removed from the mod. Right now the Insurgency-mode is Project Reality's great disgrace.

Having to defend 2 caches at all times hobbles the Ins team to oblivion. Even if it was meant to be played that way, it doesn't work.

As stated, a quick fix is to only have new caches spawn once they are known, or to phrase it differently once enough intel has been gathered. There shouldn't even be a spawn point tbh, that just gives opportunity for the Blufor to guess where the cache might be spawning.

what if the dev's just took the radio sound off the hideouts and fobs.....if its well hidden the team should be rewarded for that.....then maybe the unknowns would be easier to prepare a defense for. for example just dispatch 12 guys to unknown while rest of team defends known in order to build hideouts and "lay mines and booby traps" at the unknown.

but some maps are just unbalanced like kokan....if u dont go get those 50cal techi's at the quad cannon...they are gone forever if destroyed. then taliban have no 50cal for that whole round. and on iron ridge...there are hardly any transport car's spread out through out the map which makes it hard to transport troops for insurgents/militia. fallujah has no sniper rilfle only svd. karbala's has hidden arty ied kit and aa, should be 2-4 arty ied kits per map. taliban need another alternative to get limited kits other than main and cache, either from crates or hideouts.
fix those minor problems and insurgency would improve a lot in my opinion

I support you Andersson! But keep in mind, 12 people are 2 squads, which is almost half the team. But what about making the servers who roulate only "64" maps 50v50 instead, maybe that should solve that case....

Question is, why bluefor prefer to search for treasure instead of attacking known cache??

Well on city maps (most of ins) its a meat-grinder for any bluefor squad just trying to get into cache area. As soon as you fire first bullet, in few seconds you get stormed by lonewolfs with AK's from every direction, from every window, rain of grenades drop on your heads from every roof and even if you make it through the first wave and start to heal wounded you just get raped by the same guys spawning few meters away on hideout! It is almost impossible to destroy such cache inside city! APC support can't do s**t either because of all the bombcars, RPGs and IEDs.

Only time bluefor can destroy know cache is when ins team is bunch of noobs spread around whole map, ambushing trucks... end even if you somehow beat whole insurgency team, you loose most of your tickets.

Insurgency have only sense on maps like Archer/ Kokan/ Lashkar where bluefor can actually secure place before detonating cache.

So delete all weapons for the insurgents? And BLUFOR can take out caches against organized insurgents, but it takes a lot of teamwork then, so not only one squad that does it well but a whole team.

Insurgency is simple.
A well organized INS team will beat an unorganized BLUFOR
A well organized BLUEFOR will beat an unorganized INS

If both sides are organized, and I mean:
1) INS setup ambushes, IEDs, they flank, they keep together in squads, and have inter-squad communication
2) BLUFOR softens defenses w/ Mortars & CAS, APCs cover infantry advance & suppress INS defense positions

well then you have great team work and it doesn't matter who wins!

Am I seriously the only one who doesn't care if I win? When both teams operate w/ good team work I have a great time. So instead of complaining about losing why don't you focus on improving the team work within the PR community?

There was a beta up a few weeks ago where there was only one cache up at a time and reduced tickets. I didn't like the idea until I played it. Every single game came to a matter of a few tickets. It was amazing.

Well I don't like to lose from treasure hunters while I am defending the known cache. If I lose because the BLUFOR attacked our known caches effectively I accept it, but I don't accept it if we lose because a squad is afraid of firefights and starts treasure hunting.

Should remove cache markers altogether. Intel should come from team comms, like enemy movements or spotted cache weapons

And that's the problem PR had for yrs. But developers never listen.

Pr looses players becaus of that fact. They should save the Mod by increasing the strength of the Insurgents.

Edit: The biggest joke is the 10-20min "No-kits-for-you" Punishment that you get for killing civis.
I saw Apc gunners, shooting on purpose on civis. And you know why? it doesn't matter. The APC needs 20mins to respawn, when the "No-kits-for-you" time allready has gone . So they don't give a f**k and just keep shooting on civis.

THAT MAKES NO SENSE! Increase it to 60min! So they feel it, that they shouldn't kill civis.
And nobody cares about the Intelligents Points. The Blufor team is ghosting anyways xDDD

agreed! this should be tested.

excellent idea jamaican.

this would cause blufor to do patrols or what we use to call when i was in iraq..."ied finding missions" then report a tic (troops in contact) and bring the reinforcements. it could work.
