WGP PR Wiki

Excalibur and me from the Wargamer Project have invested a bit of work and set up an almost-complete wiki for Project Reality.
The downsides:
1) It's in German. I hope this won't be too much of an issue, as most of the stuff is tech talk or pictured anyway, and thus should be understandable for non-Germans as well. A translation is planned, but only after the more text-focused articles have been done. No point in doing it now, for the handful of individual terms that are used.
2) It is not complete:
- Hamas, Insurgents, Taliban, Chechens vehicle sets are not complete. You'll live, considering most of them don't even have any meaningful vehicles.
- Bonus information regarding gamemode dynamics etc. are unfinished
- Some maps have not been parsed yet, and all maps are stub articles (only showing very basic info like minimaps and vehicle lists).
- Descriptive texts are almost non-existent, most pages simply display a lot of technical data for now. The wiki "as is" is definitely targeted at experienced PR players, we do not provide any beginners' guides, really.
- No PR:V or PR:Arma2 content.
3) It is not officially endorsed or approved by PR staff.
4) The wiki is closed for editing. If you have suggestions or want to improve things in whatever way (translations, errors,...), you have to contact Excalibur or me directly. We do not want to make this public editing(yet?), simply to avoid griefing and spambots.
Plus side:
All information has been extracted directly from the game files, so chances of erroneous data is minimal.
I automated most of the data extraction by creating a Java-SWT tool for this (it batch-reads specified game files and is able to parse them directly into wikitext format). If someone is interested in this tool in order to use it for other mods or whatever, please contact me via PM. The tool should be universal (it works just fine for Vanilla, at least) and the output-parser is easily adaptable.
All pictures however were carefully hand-crafted (a tedious and time-consuming work, really), automating this was not really possible without sacrificing quality. We are a bit perfectionist with this...
We also provide exemplary and general damage calculation formulas for weapons. We also give you a - hopefully - understandable damage modifier table for various ammo types as well as protective capabilities of (body and vehicle) armor. Armed with a simple calculator you'll be able to play out various theoretical combat scenarios and maximize efficiency of the various arms and vehicles PR puts at your disposal.
WGP PR WIKI
Navigation hints:
The Wiki has been optimized for widescreen resolutions of 1920x1080. Best visual results are achieved on 16:9 or 16:10 resolutions, but it should adapt just fine for smaller displays. Rendering has been tested on Chrome, Firefox and Opera, I cannot guarantee everything looks right on IE or other browsers. But every browser should do the trick just fine (except maybe crappy old IE, but I couldn't care less about that). If not, cry at us here.
All PR pages are easily reachable by using the navbox that is visible at the bottom of all pages inside the wiki.
Clicking the images on the kit tables forwards you directly to the appropriate weapon specification tables.
Feedback is appreciated.
Using our own screenshots (which are mostly the vehicle screenshots) for other projects is not allowed. If you have need of them, contact us and I'm certain we can work out a nice, properly credited, solution.
