Your HDD may be slow/broken/old?
Old graphic card or other outdated driver?
I am pretty sure that with those specs you have given you should be easily be able to play the game on everything on highest settings without any lagg, and high FPS (not ffs which means for f*cks sake, you wrote it up there: "... on silent eagle today my ffs was around ...").
Maybe any background services running on your PC at that moment?
Maybe any hardware broken? A RAM-slot may be broken? MAYBE Sth. with your HD 5770? (just a "maybe" there, nothing must not be broken)

Unless he's playing @ less than 1680x1050, those specs would not suffice for all-high settings with >30fps at all times.
That being said, I'm quite surprised to hear that beruit was @ 15fps. 15 FPS, by the way, is the minimum FPS displayed by BF2. When it falls lower than 15FPS, it just micro-stutters ( freezes up for a fraction of a second) - I know this because on the futile occasions that I try to play PR with this laptop, I run an average of about 22fps, generally dipping below 15fps, thus I know the behavior all too well... and yes, it's unplayable.
If you want to know what it feels like, try
game.lockfps 15
game.lockfps 10
game.lockfps 5
You'll then experience basically what a computer with no graphics card feels like when playing PR @ all low settings
To the point at hand, it may have been a VRAM bottleneck - are you perhaps playing with a 512MB 5770?

Hello davies[eef],
I played on almost exact same system, it had
Q8200
8GB RAM
HD 5770
win7 x64
I wasn't having any troubles with LAG (except for a buggy map called Wanda Shan that has been removed because it was a lagfest)
(I have since upgraded to a Q9550)
As stated above, you might have a problem with your hard drive, or too many background processes.
Some simple steps to take , that should help in all your games:
1. Defrag your hard drive. If the BF2 or PR files get fragmented, it WILL cause serious fps lag.
2. Download and use GameBooster 3.5 Beta
Game Booster Free Download, Speed Up PC for Top Gaming Performance . This program will automate the procedure to shut down unnecessary background programs while you game, saving RAM and system resources for the game. With only 4GB of RAM, this is important.
3. Which OS do you use? XP, Vista, Win7 ? Is it 32 or 64 Bit? You can try this to increase the amount of RAM available for the BF2.exe and PR.exe programs:

If you have Win 7 use internal defragmenter, if Vista or XP tell us here, so I can check once again what is/was best defrag-program for those OS-s...

Your ffs (

) can be dropping also or caused to drop by overloaded server. Does this happen to you on every server or just some? Could it be you played coop round when it happened?
Sometimes in zones where there is too much AI your fps can drop significantly and is called server lag. Simply put server cant process all that data and it causes you to start stuttering and having low fps. Please test on few other servers and let me know if this is the case.

Hiya davies,
again , these are the three most important things you can do right now for free that should give you immediate results.
After that I'd suggest trying to scrounge up an 8GB DDR2 RAM kit if you can afford it,
You can
SLIGHTLY overclock the Q8200, I do NOT believe the CPU is the bottleneck, I believe it is your fragmented HDD or lack of RAM.
Please keep in touch and tell us how you do,

Check if any background program is accessing your harddrive while playing PR... btw 40-70 fps is playable, just at 30 fps it's getting critical... (I have mostly 100 fps on Win 7, i7-2600k, 4 GB, GTX 570, 2 TB HD)

NOOhooo, exactly THAT's the reason why I list them!

So you pls find out what they are (I don't have time), cause I am 1000% sure that at least one of them is "frying" your harddrive while playing, or at least is a running background process/task maybe also your CPU is not working good with...

mbamservice 102.776k malwarebytes anti malware. Turn this off when gaming. Turn this ON when browsing web.
firefox.exe 89,000k Firefox webbrowser, turn this off when gaming.
svchost.exe 85.000k do NOT touch anything called svchost unless you are 100% certain it is a virus hiding as a svchost.!!! Do not touch this.
mbamservice 42,000k Malwarebytes background service. Shut the above MBAM and this closes too.
pr mumble 20,000k PRMumble.
dwm.exe 19,000k Keep.
audiodg.exe 15,000k Keep.
flashplayer 12,000k Shut this off. Not even sure why this is running, I think you have a firefox window open using a flash plugin.

WHen searching for the processes running in Windows 7, I use these two resources:
Black Viper’s Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Service Configurations | Black Viper | www.blackviper.com
Windows 7 Services
Both of those websites also have Services lists for Windows XP, blackviper has a guide for WIndows Vista, and Eldergeek is building a list of services for Windows 8 right now.
