Two issues

The recent problem is that I had to click twice before I could join a server. First time I clicked it gave me the bounce back to connect a second time.
No matter if the server was half full...
I tested it in BF2 and same issue even in CO-OP mode.

Second issue is that I can't play the game any more. Everything loads fine and mouse arrow is functioning during map load, but as soon as I get into the game, the mouse freezes and only ALT+F4 works on the keyboard.
Also tested it in BF2, same issue.

Reinstalled sound and video drivers.

Try disabling Windows Firewall. Or at least allowing BF2 to get through it. I had a similar issue and that seemed to help.

It goes through, I will try disabling it now. I see the first issue is common, did you also have freezing problems?

Still same issues after testing.

The first issue is something I think you're just going to have to live with. I used to be able to connect for about 5 minutes, then it would lock up, and I would get "Your connection to the server has been lost." Did the firewall thing and it worked good for about 15 minutes. Now my pings are through the roof and I can't pay without either getting kicked for high ping or getting "There is a problem witooth your connection." Spent the better part of the past 3 days looking for a solution. Found none. I've given up, but I wish you luck.

Solved my not to be able to play issue with removing "Documents/Battlefield 2/profiles"-folder.

Interesting. I had read that some F2P players had fixed issues by deleting a file from documents. I'll try that when I get home.

How did it go?

No dice. Server list still showing pings of either 0 or 2-300. Getting kicked instantly for having a "high average ping." Tried a number of different things. Now I have a ticket open with steam support.
