I'm looking for an exporting tutorial, someone told me to not follow Tony's one (no idea why), so I'm looking for another one. Thanks
It's to export handheld weapons.

I seriously wouldn't follow tonnies tutorial. I've only watched 30secs of the first video and I saw so many issues with it, it would only lead you to export something that simply isn't useable, like all of tonnies stuff wasn't (no offense to him).
The problem is there isn't any very good export tuts out there, but tonnies I would say is the last one you want to follow.
For getting your foot in the door with exporting, I suggest you read the exporting part of my statics tut here (Step 6 onwards for the actual exporting part, but worth reading it all tbh, as it will be a lot of help to anyone going into exporting knowing the basics of how something is made):

This looks like a good plane export tut, but quite advanced:

This one is even more complicated and looks like it requires good background knowledge of exporting, and only relevant to exporting tracked vehicles:

This is also a good ref to how your export should look like:

I tried the tutorial in the shed modeling one but the handheld I'm trying to export doesn't have any LODs or COLs in the hierarchy.
I'll you a PM Rhino with the file AD asked me to export even if I don't know how to, but I want to learn how.

Posted this tut here also which should help, although its export process is mainly about how to export for 1st and 3rd person weapons rather than how to export in basic terms, it still should help:

As for your weapon, as an exporter what you first need to do is split all the separate parts/components up, like the projectile, trigger etc into separate objects so they can be animated separately and then link them to the relevant parts etc. That tut above should help with this but also on top of that looking at how other weapons work etc by importing them in to max and looking at them in the editor will help. Also that airplane tut above might help too.
