Connection (all) servers lost

This has been afflicting me for months now, where a few months ago I play PR, get off, then log back on later in the day to play with a friend: only to have the following happen:
_______________________________________________________

Log-in

Deployment --> Update List --> (Choose Server) --> Deploy

(Map Loads, I am in the game for 10 seconds - 5 minutes before "There is a problem with your connection" + disconnection)

"You have lost connection to the server"

Update List --> (Only one empty Japanese server appears and I can't connect anyway)

________________________________________________________

This happens every time I try to play PR. Does anyone have anything similar to this happen? If so how is this fixed?

This was not a first time issue, it came spontaneously.

What operating system are you using? Is it 32 or 64 bit?

Three part possible solution.

1. Download and install Vista Anti-Lag
2. Download and install WLAN Optimizer.
3. Follow the directions below to create a Punkbuster Log File which you can then open and find the exact reason that PB is kicking you from the server.
Report back with the log file and we can get you sorted with any other fixes we know of for different PB related problems.

But I contacted PB via support tickets and this is what they sent me. If anyone is still having this issue can you try and do this?

"Join a PB server, and drop the console with ~, then type

pb_logtofile 1

and then

pb_writecfg

Wait until you get kicked. Now check your ..\pb folder for a file called pbcl.log If you have hidden your file extensions, please make sure you open pbcl.log and not pbcllog.cfg! or pbcl.db Paste the line from there into a new note.
Please note: Users of Windows Vista and above will find that file under "C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\[game]\pb". To find that folder, enter "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster" to the navigation bar in your Windows Explorer, as some folders in this path might be hidden folders. Unless you activated the option to see hidden folders, you will need to enter the correct path directly into the navigation bar.

In case the kick occurs too fast to type the commands, go to your PB folder and create a plain text file "pbcl.cfg" in it (use a text editor like "Notepad", make sure it has no additional '.txt' extension). Put the text "pb_logtofile 1" as a single line to it. Then save the file and join a PB enabled server. After getting kicked, you should have a file "pbcl.log" in the PB folder."

Thanks for your advice, but unfortunately their problem is not the same as mine. My problem doesn't involve punkbuster.

You are being disconnected due to failing a punkbuster check.

It's a common problem but without some more info we can't tell you which of the common PB problems you are suffering from, so help us out with the info requested and we'll help you out.

Alright, this is what I got.

pb_LogUser "" //[remote_log_username]
pb_LogPw "" //[remote_log_password]
pb_LogAddr "" //[remote_log_address]
pb_LogPort 0 //[remote_log_port]

Sounds a lot like a modem/router issue to me, actually. I'm on my way out but when I get back I'll dig up some troubleshooting posts I've made re: router issues.

if nothing works it might be your router
are you having online problems?
if you are try reseting your router

if that doesnt work try updating your firmware for your router or get new firmware like tomato Tomato Firmware | polarcloud.com

hope this helps

Sorry I didn't get a chance to hit up the forums for long last night.

Here's the relevant link:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f370-p ... ayers.html

I believe it applies to more than just belkin routers.
