Objects turning yellow

I kept getting an md5 error (for black gold) when playing on a particular server, so i reinstalled pr with the updated map pack and that fixed the problem. However, when I got back in game, I found certain vehicles (cant remember which, but it included the aim120s on the f16) had turned completely yellow! Thinking it to be an installation error, I uninstalled and reinstalled PR again, finding to my delight that the problem had disappeared. However, a few maps later, the same problem occurred again on a different vehicle.
I kept un- and re-installing bf2 and pr several times, even checking the files with desura, but the same problem keeps coming up time and again. In the last edition it seems to be on the inside of the MEC helicopters, but it changes every time I reinstall.

Steps to reproduce:
Go on a map with the appropriate faction and look at or get in the affected object/vehicle as appropriate (normally an aircraft)

Screenshots:
No shortage of these! Although the last 2 seem to have been saved as completely black so I won't be uploading those. Probably because my computer froze after saving them. Anyway just say if you want any more.

I did try taking another lovely one of the mec attack heli cos the red numbers (ammo counters etc) were replaced by solid red squares, but no success there.

Tested on:
Whichever map it appens to come up in. The latest has been burning sands but I have seen it on many maps.
BF2 1.5, all official mods plus PR .973, 16/4/2011 PRSP map pack (needed for VG co-op server, never caused any problems) and the .973 final map pack, downloaded from gigafront, via the official link on this site. Installed in that order too, in case it matters.
MeRk air training server, out of the way of people who want to play proper games. For some reason it doesn't seem to have happened (yet) on the VG co-op server, idk if its the different maps or cos its co-op....

Graphics details:
Nvidia GTX550ti 1gb, bought and installed shortly after bf3 came out and been working well ever since!
Settings originally as they were before I first reinstalled and the problem occurred, but I've fiddled about with it all and it doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever apart from the map loading time. The settings have always been pretty high but I've since lowered them and no difference observed.
I never used to have texture filtering or antialiasing enabled (i dont think?) or at least on minimum settings... again, tried fiddling with them but with no success.

Try deleting your cache folder, located in: Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\
Delete the folders in the cache folder. The ones with a bunch of numbers and stuff.

Done that stacks of times mate. Thanks for the suggestion but I've done everything I can think of... also updated my drivers (already had the most up-to-date) :-?

Oh yeah, just remembered, first time I reinstalled (when the problem started) when I got in the game all my key bindings had disappeared. It hasn't happened since though.... don't know if it's related at all?

Sometimes it helps to run Battlefield 2 "vanilla" before you start PR for the first time after installing (or deleting the cache folder), so maybe give that a try.

The first time or 2 I tried running PR straight off without vanilla, but I soon realised it was easier to run normal BF2 first to get the settings and controls etc working. Sorry to say I've already tried this, to no avail.

Update:
I deleted the shaders again and ran vanilla to get them reinstated, but in the vanilla game my scoreboard froze and wouldn't close, so I flew into a mountain looking at the scoreboard. :(
Anyway, I sorted that, closed vanilla and of course went back into PR. Usual server, playing as the MEC on kashan this time. And to my surprise and horror, all the support boxes of any description had turned completely black!

Hmm, those black boxes looks just like they do when the cache needs to deleted.
Have you tried reverting back to older drivers? I know I had some problems when updating my video drivers, and had to go back to the previous one.

When i tried to find new drivers I realised I already had the most up-to-date drivers before the problem started so i don't think it would be drivers... anyway i don't know where to get old drivers :/ if i find any ill try tho

Have you ever installed a WallHack on your BF2?
This is a common symptom of certain hacks.

I believe rushn is trying to find a post about Turn off AA in game , and going to your NVidia Control Panel and force AA to ON forBF2.exe and PR.exe through your NVidia control panel.
But I'm not quite sure, we haven't seen this problem in more than a few months.
You will need to test it once, if still problem, delete your shaders and test it again.

Firstly, I play for fun and find no use for most hacks, plus I wouldn't know where to find them even if I did want them! So no, I have never had hacks of any kind.

And I've tried fiddling with the AA ingame but I'll try that too. Thanks for the tip, hope it works! I'll keep you posted.
BTW i thought we no longer used pr.exe?

As you know, your usualt solution is to Try deleting your cache folder, located in: Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\
Delete the folders in the cache folder. The ones with a bunch of numbers and stuff.

If you can live with just the nade being black, maybe do no further harm and let sleeping dogs lie and do not do anything else to try to fix this for now.
